TABOR — The Tabor Bluebirds scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to claim a 3-2 victory over Crofton in South Central League amateur baseball action on Wednesday.

Tabor scored the tying run in the ninth on a Sam Caba RBI single, the plated the game-winner on a bases-loaded walk.

Colin Muth doubled and singled, and Austin Koch had two hits for Tabor. Chris Sutera had a hit and two RBI. Zach Sutera, Hunter Hallock, Cole Uecker, Bryce Scieszinski and Caba each had a hit in the win.

Tyler Zimmerman had two hits for Crofton. James Kaiser, Jared Wiebelhaus, Alec Martin and Austin Hegge each had a hit.

Muth went the distance in the win, striking out nine in the complete game effort. Ben Hegge took the loss, also going the distance.

Both teams are back in action today, both at home. Tabor hosts Irene, while Crofton hosts Freeman.

Vermillion 16, Canton 1

CANTON — The Vermillion Grey Sox made quick work of Canton, rolling past the Aces 16-1 in State Line League amateur baseball action on Wednesday.

Carter Kratz went 3-4 with a home run, and Alex Mogensen went 2-4 with a home run and six RBI to lead Vermillion. Hunter Christopherson and Kyle Windeshausen also homered. Travis Weber added a hit in the victory.

Nick Sehr and Blake Beard each had a hit for Canton.

Cole Anderson went the distance in the five-inning contest, striking out six, in the win. Jordan Sehr took the loss.
