VERMILLION — Three new events along with defending the Loyola Fall Invitational highlight the 2019 women’s golf fall schedule announced by head coach Brett Bennett. In all, the Coyotes will compete in five events before taking a break for the winter.

After opening action at the Payne Stewart Memorial (Sept. 9-10), South Dakota looks to defend its team championship at the Loyola Fall Invitational Sept. 16-17. Last season, the Coyotes topped the 12-team field by 28 strokes to claim the first team victory since the 2014 season.

South Dakota then travels to three-straight events that are new to the Coyote schedule to close out the fall. First, USD travels to Columbia, Missouri, for the Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by Missouri Sept. 30-Oct. 2. The following week, the Coyotes travel to the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational (Oct. 7-9) with the fall concluding at the Cardinal Cup hosted by Louisville Oct. 18-20.

South Dakota returns four of their top six golfers from last season including four of the five student-athletes that helped the Coyotes place fourth at the Summit League Championship. Among the group is senior Katie Bartlett who won individual medalist honors at the Creighton Classic.
