Sioux Falls West swept the Yankton Grey Sox in youth baseball action on Tuesday at Riverside Field at Bob Tereshinski Stadium.

In the opener, West scored a 16-3 victory.

For Yankton. Keagan Holmstrom had two hits to lead the way. Alex Kleinsasser doubled in the effort.

Maliek Franklin took the loss. Kleinsasser struck out three in two innings of relief.

West won the nightcap 14-3.

Chase Howe had two hits for Yankton. John Rye, Keagan Holmstrom, Jack Halsted, Kolter Feilmeier and Wyatt Holmstrom each had a hit.

Keagan Holmstrom took the loss, striking out four in his two innings of work.

Yankton plays in a tournament in Sioux Falls this weekend.

Yankton Reds 12-17, Watertown 0-4

WATERTOWN — The Yankton Reds pounded out 29 runs in a doubleheader sweep of the Watertown Grey Sox in youth baseball action on Tuesday.

Yankton’s Sean Turner tossed a four-inning perfect game as the Reds won the opener 12-0.

Landon Potts had two hits and Payton Peterson doubled for Yankton. Austin Gobel, Lucas Kampshoff, Hunter Teichroew, Cohen Zahrbock, Frankie In’t Veld and Keenan Wagner each had a hit in the win.

Turner struck out three in the contest.

Yankton completed the sweep with a 17-4 victory in the nightcap.

Gobel went 3-4 with three runs scored, and In’t Veld went 2-4 with five RBI for Yankton. Kampshoff posted a hit, three runs scored and three RBI. Peterson had a hit and four runs scored. Owen Wishon, Hudson Bergeson and Teichroew each had a hit in the win.

Potts was credited with the win, with Wishon striking out four in 2 2/3 innings of relief.

The Reds, 10-1, host Mitchell on Thursday. Start time for the twinbill is 1 p.m.
