RAPID CITY — Rapid City Post 22 completed a three-game sweep of Yankton with a 5-3 decision over Post 12 in American Legion baseball action on Sunday.
Ryan Bachman went 3-4 with a double and three RBI for Rapid City. Matthew Hegre went 2-2 with a triple. Jace Caldwell and Bransen Kuehl each doubled. Drew Messer and Ryan Schmidt added a hit in the win.
Collin Zahrbock went 3-4 with two doubles for Yankton. Michael Drotzmann and Bailey Sage each doubled and singled. Caid Koletzky also had two hits. Ethan Wishon added a hit.
True Synhorst picked up the win, with Tad Scherbenske pitching a scoreless seventh for the save. Sam Mooney took the loss in relief.
Rapid City, 36-12, hosts rival Rapid City Post 320 on Tuesday.
Yankton, 22-12, hosts Sioux Falls East in a doubleheader today (Monday). Start time for twinbill is 5 p.m.

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Post 22 swept Yankton in American Legion baseball action on Saturday.
In the opener, Hunter Tillery tossed a three-hit shutout for Rapid City in a 4-0 decision.
Matthew Hegre and Ryan Bachman each doubled and singled, with Hegre driving in two runs and Bachman scoring two runs to lead Rapid City. Drew Messer and Thomas Maguire each had a hit in the win.
Levi Wiersma and Collin Zahrbock each had a double for Yankton. Michael Drotzmann added a hit.
Tillery struck out three and walked one in the win. Drotzmann took the loss.
In the nightcap, Rapid City used a five-run fifth inning to rally to a 9-6 victory.
Hegre went 3-3 with a home run and a triple, driving in three, for Rapid City. Alex Weaver had two hits. Mason Messinger, Bachman, Blake Weaver, Jace Caldwell, Maguire and Messer each had a hit in the win.
Caid Koletzky went 2-2 with a home run and three runs scored for Yankton. Drotzmann doubled and singled. Bailey Sage also homered. Zahrbock and Wishon each had a hit, with Wishon driving in two runs, for Post 12.
Zach Whitesell picked up the win in relief, with Tad Scherbenske pitching a scoreless seventh for the save. Wishon took the loss.
Yankton Black Sox 10-8, Watertown 1-4
WATERTOWN — The Yankton Black Sox ended a week hiatus as they began it, with a win over Watertown.
The Black Sox swept the Watertown Red Sox, 10-1 and 8-4, in youth baseball action on Sunday in Watertown. Yankton (13-15-1) had last played on June 30, beating Watertown 8-6 in the seventh place game of its home CorTrust/Daryl Bernard Classic.
In the opener, Austin Pederson went 2-4 with a double and two RBI to lead Yankton. Landon Loecker had a hit and two RBI. Paul McGlone, Dylan Prouty, Sam Kampshoff, Brayden Boese and Jacob Larson each had a hit in the win.
Loecker went the distance in the win, striking out three and allowing three hits in the five-inning contest.
Yankton scored five runs in the first on the way to completing the sweep of the Red Sox.
Larson went 2-3 with two doubles and two runs scored, and Kampshoff went 2-3 with a triple and three runs scored for Yankton. Colton Potts also had two hits. Triston Spears, Boese and Marcus Adam each had a hit in the win.
Adam picked up the win, with Kampshoff pitching three innings for the long-relief save.
Yankton travels to Renner on Tuesday. Start time for the twinbill is 1 p.m.
