DEARBORN, Mich. — Mount Marty College went 0-2 on the final day of the Early Bird Classic volleyball tournament, hosted by the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday.

MMC dropped a 25-18, 25-15, 22-25, 25-18 decision to the University of Saint Francis (Illinois).

Brooklyn Withey had 11 kills and 12 digs for St. Francis. Alexis Engst added 16 assists.

Michaela Ahrendt led MMC with 11 kills and five assisted blocks. Elizabeth Watchorn had eight kills and seven digs. Gabby Ruth posted six kills. Amber Miller added 19 assists.

Goshen beat MMC 25-21, 25-18, 25-10.

For Goshen, Haylee Pennington had eight kills and Tessa Clark had 17 digs to lead the way.

Ahrendt and Watchorn each had nine kills, with Watchorn posting 11 digs and Ahrendt posting two solo blocks for MMC. Miller had seven assists. Gabby Ruth posted eight kills. Molly Brinkman had eight digs.

MMC, 1-4, plays in the William Penn Tournament, Aug. 31-Sept. 1 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
