MARION — Quincy Blue scored 22 points to help Freeman Academy-Marion cruise past Avon 66-43 in boys’ basketball action Tuesday night in Marion.

Blue added six rebounds and four assists, while Gavin Pankratz had 19 points and eight steals for Freeman Academy-Marion. Thalen Schroeder added 10 points and Payton Arbach grabbed six rebounds.

For Avon, Logan Schuurmans scored 19 points and hauled in nine rebounds, while Lincoln Thury had seven points, Ashton Frank grabbed eight rebounds and Kory DeJong dished out six assists.

TRIPP – The Tripp-Delmont/Armour Nighthawks won their third game in a row on Tuesday night, when they defeated the Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunder 75-61 in Tripp.

Micah Lau led the Nighthawks with 28 points and five rebounds, and teammate Carson Koehn had 18 points and six rebounds. For AC/DC, Rizon Clark had had 21 points and Jaeson Garcia had 14 points and nine rebounds.

The Nighthawks will play again on Thursday in Armour against Platte-Geddes. AC/DC will travel to Mitchell on Thursday to play Mitchell Christian.

CROFTON, Neb. – The West Holt Huskies won a tough 59-51 victory over the Crofton Warriors in Crofton on Tuesday night.

Aaron Kraus had 14 points in the victory for the Huskies, while teammate Garrison Hansen had 12 points. For the Warriors, Andy Knapp had 15 points and six rebounds, while Justin Potts had 14 points. The Huskies will play on Thursday in Bassett against North Central. Crofton will play at home on Saturday against Norfolk Catholic.

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Paul Bruns scored 35 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Dakota Valley beat West Central 80-68 on Tuesday night in North Sioux City.

Bruns made 15-of-21 shots, while Drew Addison added 17 points and Isaac Bruns scored 10 points.

McCook Central-Montrose 59, Beresford 48

SALEM — The McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars erased an 11-point deficit on their way to a 59-48 victory over the Beresford Watchdogs on Tuesday night in Salem.

The Watchdogs got out to an early lead in the first four minutes, and the Fighting Cougars trailed by as much as 11 before taking a 24-23 lead into halftime. The Fighting Cougars would then have a strong second half, leading by as many as 22 points, and held on for the 11 point victory.

Gavin Gordon led McCook Central/Montrose with 13 points while Koltan Lindstrom and Collin Kolbeck had 11 points each. Kolbeck would also have 10 rebounds in the victory. For the Watchdogs, Tate Van Otterloo finished with 11 points.

The Watchdogs will play again on Friday when they host Tri-Valley. The Fighting Cougars, meanwhile, will play Sioux Valley on Friday in Salem.

ELK POINT — The Lennox Orioles won a tough victory on Tuesday night, defeating the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies 60-54 in overtime at Elk Point for their seventh win in a row.

Josh Arlt led all scorers with 28 points for the Orioles, while Caleb Metcalf and Peyton Eich had 11 points each in the win. For the Huskies, Ethan Hammitt, Riley Schmitz and Adam Grashhoff all had 11 points in the loss. The Huskies will travel to Nebraska on Thursday to face Ponca. The Orioles will play Vermillion on Thursday in Lennox.

FREEMAN — Carter Robertson and Kaden Pesicka combined for 44 points as Parker rolled past Freeman 74-34 on Tuesday night in Freeman.

Also for Parker (8-2), Matt Van Vliet scored 15 points, Darin Fuller hauled in six rebounds and Landri Holzwarth dished out five assists.

PONCA, Neb. — Carter Kingsbury’s 19 points helped Ponca defeat Wakefield-Allen 68-56 on Tuesday night in Ponca, Nebraska.

Cayden Phillips (12), Brandon Kneifl (11) and Bryar Bennett (10) all also reached double figures for Ponca, which made 10-of-20 three-pointers.

GREGORY — Daniel Mitchell lead the Gregory Gorillas to a 63-33 victory over the Wagner Red Raiders on Tuesday night in Gregory.

Mitchell ended the game with a team-high 25 points for the Gorillas, while Tommy Determan had 19 points. For Wagner, Nolan Carda had 17 points. Wagner will play Parkston on Thursday at home. Gregory, meanwhile, will travel to Bonesteel to face Burke on Friday.

HURON — The Huron Tigers cruised to a 71-50 victory over the Brookings Bobcats on Tuesday night in Huron.

Kobe Busch led all scorers with 27 points and eclipsed 1,000 for his career, while Nathan Boehrns had 15 points in the victory for the Tigers. Nick Schefers led the Bobcats with 19 points and six rebounds and Henry Hammrich had 12 points for Brookings. The Bobcats will travel to Harrisburg on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Tigers will face Class AA No.1 O’Gorman on Friday in Huron.

Sam Fawcett added 16 points for Lincoln (4-3), while Kesean Ladd had 14 points, and Mitch Eichacker posted 10 points and seven rebounds.

Mitchell (0-7) got 25 points from Carter Jacobsen, and 17 points and eight rebounds from Caden Hinker.

WAUSA, Neb. — The Wausa Vikings won their first game of the season on Monday night, as they defeated the Santee Warriors 72-49.

Skyles Kinkaid led the Vikings with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Ethan Baue led all scorers with 17 points. Corey Schumacher would also have 12 points and nine rebounds, and Jaxon Claussen had 15 points for Wausa. The Vikings will play again in Randolph on Friday. For the Warriors, Orin Archambeau finished with 15 points. Santee will play at home on Thursday against Allen.
