VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Mount Marty’s Colby Johnson had a near-perfect shooting night, going 9-for-10 with six three-pointers in the Lancers’ 84-73 victory at Valley City State in men’s basketball action on Friday.

Johnson finished with a game-high 27 points for MMC (5-1), which has won three straight games for the first time since the start of the 2016-17 season. Chris King netted 18 points. Jonah Larson went 3-for-3 from three-point range, finishing with 11 points off the bench in the victory.

For VCSU (0-6), Hunter Sand had 13 points off the bench to lead the way. Kevin Schramm and Connor Entzi each had 12 points for the Vikings.

Mount Marty remains in North Dakota today (Saturday), traveling to Mayville State.

HONOLULU (AP) — Tyler Hagedorn had 24 points as South Dakota got past Pacific 72-62 on Friday.

Stanley Umude had 17 points for South Dakota (1-0).

Justin Moore had 16 points for the Tigers (1-1). Jahlil Tripp added 13 points and seven rebounds. Daniss Jenkins had 10 points.

Amari McCray, whose 14.0 points per game coming into the matchup led the Tigers, failed to make a shot (0 of 5).

South Dakota takes on Hawaii on the road on Sunday. Pacific takes on Florida A&M on Sunday.

Oral Roberts 95, Houston Baptist 81

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Deondre Burns had 21 points and Max Abmas added 20 as Oral Roberts got past Houston Baptist 95-81 on Friday night.

Emmanuel Nzekwesi had 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocks for Oral Roberts (1-1). Sam Kearns added 11 points.

Jalon Gates had 25 points for the Huskies (0-2). Qon Murphy added 14 points. Ty Dalton had 14 points.

Ian DuBose, coming off a 20-point night in the Huskies’ opener, scored only 9 points on 2-of-17 shooting.

Oral Roberts plays Tulsa on the road on Tuesday. Houston Baptist matches up against Texas Tech on Wednesday.
