CROFTON, Neb. — Gabe Leon went 5-5 with two doubles to lead Yankton past Crofton 7-4 in South Central League amateur baseball action on Thursday.
Devin Gullikson had two hits for Yankton. Sheldon Gant homered, Mike Heine and Derrik Nelson each doubled, and Alex Mueller and Nik Davis each had a hit in the win.
Tyler Zimmerman had two hits, including a triple, and James Kaiser went 2-3 with three RBI for Crofton. Kyle Mueller also had two hits. Nick Hegge added a hit.
Alex Arnold picked up the win, striking out six. Cooper Davis got the final six outs for the save. Capp Bengston took the loss, with Bengston and Nick Hegge each striking out five batters in the contest.

SCOTLAND — Five different players had two hits each as Menno downed Scotland 11-1 in South Central League amateur baseball action on Thursday.
Dylan Lehr and Macon Oplinger each had a home run and a single for Menno. Caleb Preszler doubled twice. Damon Robish and Kyler Pekarek each had two hits in the win.
Dallas Fuerst had two of Scotland’s four hits. Jason Vaith and Tom Kronaizl had the other hits.
Tom Sattler went the distance in the win. Paul Plante took the loss.
Menno travels to Freeman on Sunday. Scotland hosts Yankton on Sunday.

MOUNT VERNON — Former Mount Marty standout Deric Denning tossed a complete game five-hitter and helped his cause with a 4-5 effort in a 10-0 victory over the Parkston Mudcats in amateur baseball action on Thursday.
Spencer Neugebauer went 5-5 to lead Mount Vernon. Cameron Deinert went 2-5 with a home run and three RBI. Jason Spicer had two hits, and Owen London added a double in the win.
Denning struck out seven batters in the eight-inning contest for the win.

Harrisburg 12, Vermillion 2
VERMILLION — Aaron LaBrie struck out 21 batters in eight innings and also homered in Harrisburg’s 12-2 victory over the Vermillion Greysox in State Line League amateur baseball action Wednesday night at Prentis Park.
Harrisburg scored seven runs in the top of the fourth inning and never looked back. Drew Andela doubled, singled twice and drove in three runs for the Woodies.
Vermillion was held to three hits: A two-run home run by Cole Anderson, a double by Colin Bertram and a single by Carter Kratz. Billy Mount took the loss.
Vermillion is home next Wednesday against Alcester.
