Nebraska Sub-Districts Set

LINCOLN, Neb. — Ponca, Crofton, Hartington Cedar Catholic and Wynot earned the top seed in their respective sub-district as the Nebraska School Activities Association announced girls’ basketball post-season brackets on Thursday.

— In C2-4 at Pender, Ponca (17-3) claimed the top spot and will face the winner of Monday’s matchup between Homer (13-8) and Wisner-Pilger (4-17) on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Bancroft-Rosalie-Lyons-Decatur (18-4) plays second-seeded Guardian Angels Central Catholic (19-3) in the 7:30 p.m. semifinal.

— In C2-7 at O’Neill, Crofton (18-3) earned the top spot and will face the winner of Monday’s matchup between Boyd County (14-8) and West Holt (5-14) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Second-seeded North Central (18-3) faces Summerland (17-5) in the 7:45 p.m. semifinal.

— In D1-3 at Ponca, Hartington Cedar Catholic (7-11) claimed the top seed and will face the winner of Monday’s matchup between Creighton (6-14) and Wausa (6-14) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Second-seeded Hartington-Newcastle (9-10) and Niobrara-Verdigre (6-14) in the 7:30 p.m. semifinal.

— In D2-2 at Hartington, Wynot (18-4) earned the top seed and will face Emerson-Hubbard (1-17) in the 6 p.m. semifinal. Second-seeded Randolph (6-13) will face Winside (6-13) in the 7:30 p.m. semifinal.

— In D2-4 at Niobrara, Bloomfield (9-11) is the second seed and will face Santee (8-12) in the 8 p.m. semifinal. Top-seeded Stuart (12-8) faces O’Neill St. Mary’s (5-13) in the 6:30 p.m. semifinal.

— In C1-3 at Wisner, Wakefield-Allen (12-8) is the third seed and will face Winnebago (12-8) in the 7:30 p.m. semifinal on Tuesday. Top-seeded West Point-Beemer (19-5) faces Logan View-Scribner-Snyder (4-16) in the other semifinal.

All sub-district finals are set for Thursday, Feb. 20. Sub-district winners and the next four teams in power points will advance to the district finals on Feb. 28.
