GAYVILLE – In a second round matchup in Gayville for the Region 5B Tournament, the Freeman Flyers swept the Irene-Wakonda Eagles 25-17, 25-19, 25-19.
Nora O’Malley lead the Eagles with 10 kills, while Malloy O’Malley had 12 digs and 11 assists. Abbey Emmick also had an excellent game defensively for the Eagles, finishing with a match-high 22 digs, while Emma McDonald had 17 digs and seven kills.
For the Flyers, Emily Miller ended the match with 13 kills and three blocks, while teammate Cara Maske had 18 assists. Oddy Pankratz added 10 digs for Freeman, who will play in Emery Thursday night against Gayville-Volin for a chance to go to the SoDak 16. The Eagles, meanwhile, finish their season at 11-16.

GAYVILLE – After losing their last four matches of the regular season, the Gayville-Volin Raiders got back on the right track, as they dominated their Region 5B second round matchup by a score of 25-13, 25-14, 25-7 over the Canistota Hawks in Gayville on Tuesday night.
Keeley Larson lead the offense with 28 assists, while Lily Hunsley had nine kills. Kayla VanOsdel and Samantha Olson also added seven kills each for the Raiders, who are now 24-8 on the year. Defensively for Gayville-Volin, Molly Larson finished the match with 10 kills.
For the Hawks, Harley Cormany ended with a match-high 24 digs to go along with five kills, while teammate Desiree Pierce had 17 digs. Hannah Parry added 12 assists and 13 digs, while Skylar Bultje had four blocks for Canistota, who end their year at 12-19.
The Raiders will now prepare for their second round matchup against the Freeman Flyers on Thursday in Emery.

EMERY – The top-seeded Bridgewater-Emery Huskies swept the Viborg-Hurley Cougars 25-18, 25-10, 25-12 in a Region 5B Tournament match on Tuesday in Emery.
Julia Weber finished with a match-high 14 kills, while adding 10 digs on defense for the Huskies. Kerrigan Schultz was able to add 12 digs and 17 assists, while Sophia Potter had a match-high 17 assists for Bridgewater-Emery.
For the Cougars, Coral Mason and NeVaeh Ronke had six kills apiece. Mason also had eight digs, while teammate Katie Johansen had five assists. The Cougars end their season at 5-18. Meanwhile, the Huskies will play in Emery on Thursday for their second round matchup of the Region 5B Tournament.

EMERY – In Emery on Tuesday night, the Alcester-Hudson Cubs took down the Scotland Lady Highlanders 25-21, 25-13, 26-28, 25-16 in their Region 5B Tournament matchup.
The Cubs were lead at the net by Rachel Kelderman with 11 kills, while teammate Bayleigh Petersen had 26 assists and 25 digs. Alyssa Kieser would add 20 digs for Alcester-Hudson, who will play Bridgewater-Emery in Emery on Thursday night in their second round matchup.
Bella Vitek finished the match with 16 kills for the Lady Highlanders, who finish the season with a 19-12 record. Rylee Conrad would also have 29 assists and 15 digs, while teammate Kennedy Pietz had 20 digs.

For the Cowgirls, Baylie Hoffine had six digs, while Katie Welker had five digs. Colome ends their season at 12-19.
As the Lady Cougars, Taylee Indahl had 14 kills to lead the way, while Bobbi Jo Wischmann had 24 assists and six digs. Lainee Schonebaum also had nine kills for Burke. The Lady Cougars will play in Bonesteel on Thursday night for their second round matchup against Kimball/White Lake.

For the Lady Gorillas, Sydney Svatos and Mya Determan had seven kills each, while Svotos finished the match with 13 digs. Brooklyn VanDerWerff added 12 digs and 10 assists for Gregory, who ends their season at 15-13.
Kennedy Lieferman ended the match with 17 kills while Grace Konechne had 14 kills for the WiLdKats. Lieferman added 21 digs, while Konechne also had 14 digs and five blocks. Ryann Nielsen added 26 assists for the WiLdKats, who will play Burke in Bonesteel on Thursday for their second round matchup.

CORSICA – The Avon Lady Pirates rallied back after losing their first set on Tuesday night, defeating the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers 21-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-12 in Corsica for their Region 6B second round matchup.
Karly VanDerWerff led the Black Panthers with 18 kills, while teammate Cadence Van Zee had nine kills. Avery DeVries added 12 assists, while Regan Hoffman had 14 digs and five ace serves for Platte-Geddes, who ends their season at 13-16.
For the Lady Pirates, Madisyn Cameron led the offense with 39 assists, while Tiffany Pelton had 14 kills. Defensively for Avon, Katie Gretschmann had 17 digs, while Maddie Kocmich had 15 digs.
The Lady Pirates will now play again in Corsica on Thursday, this time facing the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars.

CORSICA – In the first round of the Region 6B Volleyball Tournament, the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars dominated the AC/DC Thunder 25-19, 25-23, 25-16 in Corsica on Tuesday night.
Raven Barse, Morgan DeLange and Paige Wright all led the way for the Jaguars with eight kills each. Marisa DeLange and Camden Plooster also passed out 14 assists each for the Jaguars, while Lexi Tilton had 17 digs. From the serving line, Marisa DeLange finished the match with five ace serves.
For the Thunder, Mackenzie Muckey and Lexie VanderPol had seven kills each, while Isabel Pheifer had 17 digs. Also defensively for AC/DC, Melanie Mudder would finish the match with 15 digs, while Muckey had 12 digs.

Jessica Niles dominated the net with eight kills and four blocks, while teammate Molly Ebert had 11 assists for the Watchdogs. Summer Roelke also had 15 digs for Beresford, while Jaycee Fischer had 12 digs.
For the C-Hawks, Zada Jones and Nikki Tiemann had seven kills, while Brenna Beyke lead the offense with 25 assists. Canton ends their season at 3-21. The Watchdogs, 22-12, will host Elk Point-Jefferson on Tuesday in their second round matchup.

ELK POINT – After losing the first set in their Region 4A match on Tuesday in Elk Point, the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies rallied back to win their next three sets and win the match 19-25, 25-12, 25-21, 25-22 against the Vermillion Tanagers.
Riley Donnelly had 10 kills and 19 digs to lead the way for the Huskies, while teammate Sophie Giorgio finished the match with 30 assists and 22 digs. Carlie Corder would dominate the net, ending the match with eight kills and nine blocks, while Katelyn Chytka had 33 digs for Elk Point-Jefferson.
For the Tanagers, who end their season at 12-21, Tori Andre had 11 kills and six blocks, while Lexi Saunders had 14 assists and 13 digs. Kennedy Pratt would also have 16 assists for Vermillion and Emily Stockwell would add 17 digs.
The Huskies will play in Beresford on Thursday against the Beresford Watchdogs for their second round matchup.

Rianna Fillipi dominated the match with 16 kills and 38 digs for the Orioles, while teammate Hattie Breck had 29 digs and 19 assists. Maddy Vlastuin also had 10 kills, while teammate Isabel Ihnen had nine kills.
As for the Lady Titans, Desirae Patzwald and Elizabeth Spah had 10 kills each, while Patzwald had 38 digs. Megan Stadtfeld also had 21 assists. The Lady Titans end their season at 10-18.
Lennox will face Dakota Valley in North Sioux City on Thursday for their second round matchup.

Grace Nelson also helped lead the way for the Bulldogs with 14 assists and nine kills, while Briana Steuerwald had 14 digs. Kylie Krusemark would also have a match-high 18 assists, while Kendra Leighton would finish the match with 12 digs for Madison.
For the Trojans, Brielle Bruening led the way with five kills and Izzy Hohn had eight assists. CC Neugebauer had seven assists for the Trojans, who end the year at 17-17. Madison will play in Wagner on Thursday in their second round matchup.

Katlyn Briggs had an excellent game, finishing the match with 12 kills and six blocks, while adding 34 digs for the Titans. Regan Klooz also had 13 assists and 24 digs for Mt. Vernon/ Plankinton, who finish the season with a 15-17 record.
For the victorious Pheasants, Brooke Berens (15 kills), Sydney Berens (13 kills) and Shelby Lang (12 kills) all had double-digit kills to lead the way. Cierra Mohr would also have 43 assists to go along with 19 digs. Breana Jensen added 39 digs for Parker, who will play in Montrose on Thursday against McCook Central/Montrose.
