MITCHELL — The Yankton Gazelles earned victories over Pierre and Mitchell in a girls’ tennis triangular on Friday in Mitchell.

Yankton beat Pierre 8-1 and upended Mitchell 6-3 on the day. Against Mitchell, Yankton won four of five super-tiebreakers in singles action to claim victory.

Yankton’s Josephine Krajewski (flight one), Maggie Schaefer (flight two), Olivia Tennant (flight three) and Maddie Binder (flight four) each went 2-0 in singles play. Krajewski and Tennant (flight one), and Schaefer and Stacia Sherman (flight two) each went 2-0 in doubles action.

Yankton travels to perennial power O’Gorman on Tuesday.
