Springfield-Platteview, Sioux Falls West, Renner and Blair advance to the semifinals of the Lewis & Clark Classic by winning their respective pools on Saturday.

The semifinals will match Springfield-Platteview against Blair in the 11 a.m. contest, followed by Sioux Falls West against Renner in the 1:15 p.m. contest. The two winners will face off at 3:30 p.m. for the title.

Yankton Pool

Springfield-Platteview 11, Brookings 2

Grant Thomas went 3-3 with a double to lead Springfield-Platteview to an 11-2 victory over Brookings in the Yankton pool on Saturday. The victory clinched a 4-0 pool run for Springfield-Platteview.

Colin Lynam doubled and singled for Springfield-Platteview. Jordan Mathewson, Caden Mathewson and Ryan Roesler each had a hit in the win.

Rett Zelinsky and Trevor Berreth each had two hits for Brookings. Tyler Kreutner, Justin Devine and Parker Rykhus each had a hit for the Bandits.

Caden Johnson picked up the win. Jackson Krogman took the loss.

Yankton 6, Brookings 2

Yankton took control with a  four-run fifth inning in a 6-2 victory over Brookings to conclude play in the Yankton pool on Saturday.

Rex Ryken had two hits and Bailey Sage had a two-run home run for Yankton. Michael Drotzmann, Sam Mooney and Ethan Wishon each doubled. Levi Wiersma added a hit in the victory.

Jacob Schoon, Tanner Shepardson, Cayden Jacobsma and Cole Mahlum each had a hit for Brookings.

Drotzmann went the distance in the win, striking out five in the six-inning contest. Tyler Kreutner took the loss, striking out four in his five innings of work.

Yankton 11, Plattsmouth 3

Yankton used a six-run third inning to take control for an 11-3 victory over Plattsmouth in the Yankton pool on Saturday.

Bailey Sage went 2-2 with a double for Yankton. Levi Wiersma, Ethan Wishon, Collin Zahrbock, Kieren Luellman and Peyton Mueller each had a hit. Zahrbock and Sam Mooney each drove in two runs in the win.

Adam Eggert tripled for Plattsmouth. Aaronn Aho, Sam Campin and Easton Hoschar each had a hit.

Miles Carda went the distance in the five-inning contest for the win. Jacob Davis took the loss.

Springfield-Platteview 5, Norfolk 3

Springfield-Platteview built an early 4-0 lead and held off a late rally to beat Norfolk 5-3 in the Yankton pool on Saturday.

Grant Thomas went 2-4 with a triple to lead Springfield-Platteview. Jordan Mathewson also had two hits. Colin Lynam had a hit and two RBI, and Sam Kennedy added a hit in the win.

Brandon Ellenwood went 2-3 for Norfolk. Ryland Bates and Carter Faltys each doubled. Nolan Strand and Brett O’Brien each had a hit in the effort.

Ryan Roesler picked up the win. Faltys took the loss, striking out six in his five innings of work.

Norfolk 6, Plattsmouth 4

Carter Faltys went 3-3 with a triple and two RBI to lead Norfolk past Plattsmouth 6-4 in the Yankton pool on Saturday.

Dylan Rodgers, Brandon Ellenwood, Wil Fisher and Hunter Clouse each had a hit in the win.

Connor Pohlmeier and Logan Blotzer each had two hits for Plattsmouth. Sam Campin, Easton Hoschar and Zane Renner each had a hit in the effort.

Ellenwood went the distance in the win, striking out seven. Aaronn Aho took the loss, striking out five in his four innings of work.

  

Crofton Pool

Renner 13, Crofton 0

Daulton Vanderloo struck out seven batters in a four-inning no-hitter for Renner in a 13-0 victory over Crofton in Saturday’s first game.

Kobe Lien tripled, singled and drove in five runs in the win, while Will Washenberger doubled, and Chase Merrill singled twice. John Kunkel, Mason Runia, Sam Breit and C.J. Stukel all scored twice.

Christian Kleinschmit took the loss for Crofton.

Renner 14, Dakota Valley 1

Renner scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on the way to a 14-1 victory over Dakota Valley in four innings Saturday.

Sam Stukel doubled and singled, while C.J. Stukel and Reece Arbogast both doubled and singled for Renner. Daulton Vanderloo drove in three runs. Will Washenberger pitched the first two innings.

Dakota Valley’s three singles came from Sam Otten, Brenden Klasi and Hunter Beving. Klasi took the loss.

Harrisburg 6, Dakota Valley 5

Jared Inskeep struck out 11 batters over six innings and his offense scored twice in the bottom of the fifth inning to help Harrisburg edge Dakota Valley 6-5 on Saturday.

Brady Bretzman, Troy Ljungren and Nick Zabel all had two hits for Harrisburg, while Payton Metzger doubled.

In the loss for Dakota Valley, Hunter Beving doubled twice and drove in three runs, and Sam Otten doubled and singled twice. Cade Zeller added a pair of RBI and was the losing pitcher.

Harrisburg 13, Pender 3

Harrisburg used an 11-run bottom of the first inning to cruise past Pender 13-3 in four innings Saturday.

Payton Metzger homered and drove in five runs for Harrisburg, while Jett Olszewski doubled and singled. Jack Teigen also doubled. Metzger was also the winning pitcher, with five strikeouts over four innings.

Crofton 7, Pender 6

Crofton finished its home pool with a 7-6 victory over Pender on Saturday.

Vermillion Pool

S.F. West 14, Lincoln Southeast 4

An eight-run first inning gave Sioux Falls West control on the way to a 14-4 victory over Lincoln Southeast in the Vermillion pool on Saturday. The game matched the two teams that started the pool 2-0.

Joe Lund went 3-3 with a double, and John Rogers doubled twice for West. Karsten Grove doubled and singled. Mason Crow also had two hits. Grady Gulbranson homered, Ethan Behrend doubled, and Matt Fiegen, Ben Simonsen, Dylan Hanson and Mason Ohnstad each had a hit in the win.

Andrew Duncan went 3-3 with two doubles for Lincoln Southeast. Grant Snelling and Brogan Zegers each had two hits. Coleby Daffer, Tristan Allen, Eric Heldenbrand and Reid Stutzman each had a hit in the effort.

Fiegen went the distance in the four-inning contest, striking out six, for the win. Devin Trumbley took the loss.

Vermillion 4, Tabor 0

Vermillion’s Drew Thelen tossed a three-hit shutout as Post 1 downed Tabor 4-0 in the final game of the Vermillion pool on Saturday.

Dylan Thelen had a hit and two RBI, and Connor Saunders, Jack Kratz and Andonn Person each had a hit for Vermillion.

Beau Rothschadl, Joey Slama and Tanner Van Driel each had a hit for Tabor.

Drew Thelen struck out five in the six-inning contest for the win. Slama took the loss, striking out three in his four innings of work.

Lincoln Southeast 11, Tabor 3

Lincoln Southeast used a pair of five-run innings to power past Tabor 11-3 in the Vermillion pool on Saturday.

Beau Rothschadl doubled for Tabor. Kaden Kozak, Tanner Van Driel and Josh Schmidt each had a hit in the effort.

Mace Merkwan took the loss in relief.

S.F. West 6, Omaha Concordia 1

John Rogers and Mason Crow each homered as Sioux Falls West downed Omaha Concordia 6-1 in the Vermillion pool on Saturday.

Joe Lund doubled and singled, and Karsten Grove had two hits for West. Grady Gulbranson and Mason Ohnstad each had a hit in the effort.

Ben Bowman had two hits and Jack Torosian homered for Concordia. Tony Bellus doubled and Ethan Bierman added a hit for the Mustangs.

Rogers struck out six in the win. Coleton Kanzmeier took the loss, striking out four in his five innings of work.

Omaha Concordia 12, Vermillion 2

Ethan Bierman went 4-4 and Braden Olson went 3-4 with a double and three RBI as Omaha Concordia downed Vermillion 12-2 in the Vermillion pool on Saturday.

Jack Torosian doubled twice and Tony Bellus had two hits for Concordia. Coelton Kanzmeier tripled, Karsten Mathsen doubled, and Ethan Hergert and Ben Bowman each had a hit in the effort.

Jack Kratz had two hits for Vermillion. Gray Peterson doubled and Connor Saunders added a hit for Post 1.

Olson picked up the win, striking out seven in the five-inning contest. Peterson took the loss.

Hartington Pool

Blair 6, Brandon Valley 1

Blair took control with a five-run second inning to claim a 6-1 victory over Brandon Valley in Saturday’s matchup of the last two unbeaten in the Hartington pool.

Max Nickerson went 2-4 with a triple, and A.J. Bilslend tripled for Blair. Auggie Rasmussen had a hit and two RBI, and Jason Stewart added a hit in the win.

Joe Kolbeck homered and Dawson Skorczewski doubled for Brandon Valley. Thomas Scholten had the other Brandon Valley hit.

Colin Quick pitched four innings, striking out six, for the win. Bilslend struck out three in two innings of relief. Dylan Kirkeby took the loss, striking out seven in his four innings of work.

Hartington 11, Huron 10

Hartington scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth and final inning to rally past Huron 11-10 in the Hartington pool on Saturday.

Jacob Kaiser and Chase Lammers each had two hits for Hartington. Sam Feilmeier tripled, Seth Wiebelhaus doubled, and Dain Whitmire and Austin Arens each had a hit in the win.

Jake Wehde went 2-3 with a triple, and Aiden Dejean had two hits for Huron. Blake Larsen and Stevan Degeest each tripled. Jonny Hernandez had a hit and three RBI, and Drew Arteman had a hit in the effort.

Carter Arens, who got the final out of the top of the fifth, picked up the win in relief. Wehde took the loss.

Blair 7, West Central 0

Blair’s Treyton Jones tossed a two-hit shutout as the Bears blanked West Central 7-0 to finish Hartington pool play 4-0 on Saturday.

A.J. Bilslend went 2-3 with a triple and two RBI for Blair. Ben Aguilera and Jones each had a hit.

Micah Warrington and Miles Mutziger each had a hit for West Central.

Jones struck out four in the six-inning contest for the win. Clay Habben took the loss, striking out four in his four innings of work.

Hartington 6, West Central 5

Dean Whitmire’s RBI single in the bottom of the sixth lifted Hartington to a 6-5 victory over West Central in the final game of the Hartington pool on Saturday.

Brady Steffen and Seth Wiebelhaus each had two hits for Hartington. Carter Arens had a double and two RBI. Sam Feilmeier also doubled. Whitmire added a hit in the win.

Caden Ideker had two hits, and Cooper Maras had a hit and two RBI for West Central. Clayton Hanisch, Carter Healy and Truman Dick each had a hit in the effort.

Wiebelhaus pitched two innings of scoreless relief for the win. Landry Knight took the loss in relief of Ideker, who struck out five in four innings of work.

Brandon Valley 20, Huron 4

Brandon Valley took advantage of seven walks and six hit batters in a 20-4 rout of Huron in the Hartington pool on Saturday.

Cole Hupke went 2-2 with a double and three RBI for Brandon Valley. Lake Terveer also had two hits. Joe Kolbeck doubled, and Jaxon Warkenthien, Hunter Marso, Connor Knecht, Ethan Kjenstad, Bradley Skorczewski and Ryan Barker each had a hit in the win.

Frank Archer struck out 11 batters in the four-inning contest for the win.
