SIOUX FALLS — The Keystone Cobras, which went on to finish second in the bracket, eliminated the Yankton Fury 18s in the Ringneck softball tournament with an 11-4 decision on Sunday.

For Yankton, Elsie Marquardt had a double, two RBI and a run scored, and Peyton Senger had a double and a RBI to lead the way. Kayli Jelsma had a hit and a RBI. Larkyn Mason and Hannah Lindula each had a hit in the effort.

Tori Herrboldt took the loss, striking out two.

Yankton begins play in the South Dakota State Tournament on Friday in Sioux Falls.

Fury 18s 13, R.C. Adrenaline 3

Yankton began Sunday’s bracket play with a 13-3 rout of the Rapid City Adrenaline.

Haley Linke had a double, a single, two RBI and three runs scored to lead a balanced Yankton attack. Hannah Lindula, Elsie Marquardt, Payton Senger and Larkyn Mason each had two hits, with Marquardt posting three RBI and two runs scored, and Senger recording three RBI and a run scored. Mason and Lindula each scored twice.

Also for Yankton, Tori Herrboldt had a double and a RBI. Olivia Larson had a hit, a RBI and two runs scored. Sarah Stoddard had a hit and two RBI. Faith Sparks added a hit and a RBI in the effort.

Herrboldt picked up the win, striking out six.

MVSA Mustangs 11, Fury 18s 4

The MVSA Mustangs from Minnesota downed Yankton 11-4 to conclude Yankton’s pool play action on Saturday.

Kayli Jelsma had a hit, a RBI and a run scored for Yankton. Hannah Lindula, Haley Linke and Tori Herrboldt each had a hit and a run scored. Faith Sparks, Elsie Marquardt and Johanna Jelsma each had a hit. Makayla Kelley drove in a run in the effort.

Herrboldt took the loss, striking out five.

Fury 18s 3, Neb. Echos 2

Faith Sparks had two hits, a RBI and a run scored to lead Yankton to a 3-2 victory over the Nebraska Echos on Saturday.

Elsie Marquardt had a double and a RBI, and Peyton Senger had a hit and a RBI for Yankton. Larkyn Mason and Tori Herrboldt each had a hit. Sarah Stoddard and Makayla Kelley each scored a run in the effort.

Norfolk Kelly’s 9, Fury 18s 5

Yankton opened pool play with a 9-5 setback against Norfolk Kelly’s.

Sarah Stoddard had two hits and a run scored, and Tori Herrboldt had a double, a run scored and a RBI for Yankton. Makayla Kelley and Hannah Lindula each had a hit and a RBI. Peyton Senger had a hit and a run scored. Johanna Jelsma and Kayli Jelsma each scored a run. Haley Linke drove in a run in the effort.

Kelley took the loss, with Herrboldt striking out four in relief.

14-Under Division

SIOUX FALLS — The Xplosion ended the Yankton Fury Red run in the Ringneck softball tournament with a 9-1 decision on Sunday in Sioux Falls.

Grace Brockberg, Hannah Sailer, Bailey Sample, Brooklyn Townsend, Tori Vellek and Izzy Wintz each had a hit for Yankton.

Sample took the loss, striking out six in the six-inning contest.

The Fury Red, 25-11, host Vermillion on Tuesday. Start time for the twinbill is 6 p.m. at the Summit softball fields south field.

Fury Red 5, Bennington Elite 3

Annika Gordon went 3-4 with two RBI to lead the Yankton Fury Red past the Bennington, Nebraska, Elite on Sunday.

Kayden Acuff, Regan Garry, Hannah Sailer, Bailey Sample, Tori Vellek, Izzy Wintz and Camryn Zoeller each had a hit in the win.

Garry picked up the win, striking out four.

Fury Gold-Anderson 13, Fury Red 2

The Fury Gold-Anderson squad from Omaha, Nebraska, downed the Yankton Fury Red 13-2 on Saturday.

Annika Gordon and Izzy Wintz each had two hits for Yankton. Hannah Sailer and Kayden Acuff each had a hit and a RBI. Olivia Girard added a hit.

Regan Garry took the loss, striking out three.

Fury Red 5, Rampage 2

Three Yankton players had two hits each as the Fury Red downed the Rampage 5-2 on Saturday.

Hannah Sailer and Regan Garry each had two hits and a RBI for Yankton. Annika Gordon had two hits and two runs scored. Paige Hatch had a double and a RBI. Izzy Wintz and Bailey Sample each had a hit and a RBI. Grace Brockberg and Camryn Zoeller each had a hit in the effort.

Sample picked up the win, striking out eight in the seven-inning contest.
