DELL RAPIDS — Third-ranked Sioux Falls Christian edged top-ranked Dakota Valley 25-23, 26-24 for the championship of the Dakota XII Conference Volleyball Tournament, held Saturday in Dell Rapids.

Abby Glanzer had seven kills, five digs and two blocks to lead SFC. Kelsi Heard posted 20 assists. Katie Van Egdom added six digs in the victory.

For Dakota Valley, Rachel Rosenquist posted seven kills, and Ally Beresford had 21 assists, five kills and seven digs to lead the way. Tori Schulz added five blocks.

THIRD — MADISON 2, EPJ 1: Madison outlasted Elk Point-Jefferson 25-16, 19-25, 25-19 for third place on Saturday.

Abby Brooks posted 15 kills and four blocks, and Grace Nelson had 23 assists to lead the way. Kendra Leighton and Morgan Anderson each had nine digs in the victory.

For EPJ, Kenna Curry had seven kills and Katelyn Chytka had 32 digs to lead the way. Sophia Giorgio had 18 assists and Alyssa Chytka had 18 digs for the Huskies.

FIFTH — TRI-VALLEY 2, LENNOX 0: Tri-Valley swept Lennox 25-21, 25-22 in the fifth place match on Saturday.

Blayne Gacke had 10 kills and 12 digs, and Grace Schildhauer had 23 assists to lead Tri-Valley. Alicia West and Emma Keith each had nine digs in the victory.

Rianna Fillipi had five kills and Hattie Breck had nine assists for Lennox. Isabel Ihnen added 11 digs.

SEVENTH — WEST CENTRAL 2, VERMILLION 1: West Central held off Vermillion 25-22, 22-25, 25-16 in the seventh place match.

Brooke Opitz and Tyalor Kunzweiller each had eight assists for West Central. Shaw Nelson added 11 digs.

Toria Andre had 10 kills and Lexie Saunders had 11 assists, four ace serves and 11 digs for Vermillion. Shandie Ludwig added 14 digs.

Hartington-Newcastle, Randolph, Osmond and Wakefield-Allen will join the top four seeds in the quarterfinals of the Lewis & Clark Conference Volleyball Tournament, today (Monday) in Randolph and Homer, Nebraska.

In Randolph, top-seeded Wynot will take on Wakefield-Allen, which won its pool in Allen. Fourth-seeded Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will take on Hartington-Newcastle, which won its pool in Hartington.

In Homer, second-seeded Ponca will take on Osmond, which won its pool in Osmond. Thirded-seeded Randolph will face Randolph, which won its pool at home.

Semifinal matches are also set for today. Championship and third place matches will be held on Tuesday in Laurel, Nebraska.

Today’s consolation matches in Winnebago, Nebraska include Emerson-Hubbard against Walthill and Winnebago against Homer. Consolation matches in Wausa today include Bloomfield against Creighton and Wausa against Plainview.

HARTINGTON-NEWCASTLE 2, PLAINVIEW 0: Kayden Jueden posted 16 kills, nine ace serves and nine digs to lead Hartington-Newcastle past Plainview 25-21, 25-19 in its pool on Saturday.

Brianna Hoping had 12 assists and eight digs, and Alivia Morten had seven assists and 11 digs for Hartington-Newcastle. Keeley Weipen had three ace serves. Erin Folkers and Erin Meisenheimer each had eight digs in the victory.

HARTINGTON-NEWCASTLE 2, BLOOMFIELD 0: Kayden Jueden had 17 kills and nine digs to lead Hartington-Newcastle past Bloomfield 25-16, 25-21 on Saturday.

Brianna Hopping had 12 assists and Alivia Morten had 11 assists for Hartington-newcastle. Makenna Clarkson had five ace serves in the victory.

WINNEBAGO 2, CREIGHTON 0: Winnebago swept Creighton 25-19, 25-17 in the Wakefield-Allen pool on Saturday.

For Creighton, Maycee Zimmerer had three kills, seven assists and eight digs to lead the way.

Charlize Wilmes had four kills, and Sierra Nielsen had three kills and eight digs for the Bulldogs.

WAKEFIELD-ALLEN 2, CREIGHTON 0: Wakefield-Allen downed Creighton 25-18, 25-14 in the Wakefield-Allen pool on Saturday.

Charlize Wilmes and Sierra Nielsen each had four kills for Creighton. Maycee Zimmerer had six assists. Averi Diedrichsen added four digs.

KWL 3, Parkston 0

PARKSTON — Grace Konechne had 13 kills and two blocks to lead Kimball-White Lake past Parkston 25-20, 25-20, 25-20 in prep volleyball action on Saturday.

Dani Deffenbaugh posted 11 kills and 10 digs, and Ryann Nielsen had 31 assists for KWL. Kennedy Leiferman added six kills, three ace serves and 12 digs in the win.

Maggie Baumgart had six kills and four blocks to lead Parkston. C.C. Neugebauer had nine assists and seven digs. Faith Oakley had eight assists and four ace serves. Amber Albrecht and Allison Ziebart each had eight digs in the effort.

KWL, 9-12, hosts Andes Central-Dakota Christian today (Monday) in White Lake. Parkston, 13-14, travels to Bon Homme on Tuesday.
