The Yankton Reds bounced back from a slow start to earn a doubleheader sweep of Renner in youth baseball action on Monday at Riverside Field at Bob Tereshinski Stadium.
In the opener, Yankton came back from a 6-2 deficit to claim a 10-6 victory.
Michael Mors went 3-3 with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBI to lead Yankton. Connor Teichroew went 3-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored. Luke Bernatow went 3-4 with two RBI. Garrett Nelson, Rugby Ryken, Drew Ryken, Isaiah Schelhaas and Mac Ryken each had a hit in the win.
Mac Ryken picked up the win, pitching two innings of shutout relief.
In the nightcap, Yankton used a 13-run second inning to pull away to a 19-5 victory. All nine Reds had at least one hit, at least one walk and at least one run scored.
Teichroew went 3-3 with three RBI and three runs scored, and Rugby Ryken went 3-3 with three runs scored for Yankton. Bernatow had two hits, driving in three runs and scoring twice. Cooper Grotenhuis doubled. Mors had a hit and three runs scored. Drew Ryken had a hit, two RBI and two runs scored. Nelson and Mac Ryken each had a hit and two runs scored. Schelhaas added a hit in the win.
Grotenhuis picked up the win.
The Reds, 17-3 and winners of seven straight, host Brandon Valley on Saturday. Start time for the twinbill is 11 a.m.
Platte-Geddes 16, Corsica 3
CORSICA — Platte-Geddes scored four or more runs in three different innings on the way to a 16-3 rout of Corsica in American Legion baseball action on Monday.
Payton Foxley went 4-5 with a home run, two doubles, five RBI and three runs scored to lead the 12-hit barrage. Dylan Mohnen had three hits, including a double, and three RBI. Riggs Priebe doubled and singled. Cole Nachtigal also had two hits. Riley Hoffman added a hit.
For Corsica, Jake Clark went 2-2. Austin Graves, Blake Moke and Kyle Menning each had a hit in the effort.
Chase Pfeifer picked up the win, with Nachtigal pitching three shutout innings for the long-relief save. Gavin Zomer took the loss.
Platte-Gedes, 6-2, hosts Gregory on Thursday.
Humboldt-Hartford 3, Dell Rapids 0
HUMBOLDT — Brandon McKnight tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out 11, as Humboldt-Hartford downed Dell Rapids 3-0 in American Legion baseball action on Monday.
Carter Healy had two hits and Broc Haldeman had a double and a RBI for Humboldt-Hartford. Luke Sebert and McKnight also had hits, with McKnight driving in a run, in the win.
Jay Holm and Eddie Price had hits for Dell Rapids.
Josh Roemen took the loss, striking out six and allowing one earned run in five innings of work.
Tabor 13, Irene 9
TABOR — The Tabor Bluebirds jumped out to an 11-0 lead and held on for a 13-9 victory over Irene in South Central League amateur baseball action on Monday.
Zach Sutera had a double and two singles to lead Tabor. Jason Humpal and Chase Kortan also had three hits each.
Alex Loes had four hits, including a double, for Irene. Matt Sees and George Sees each had two hits.
Austin Kaul picked up the win. Jamison Kleinsasser took the loss.
Tabor hosts Wynot on Thursday. Irene is off until a July 8 matchup with Crofton.

Sheldon Gant went 2-3 with a home run, and Mason Townsend and Alex Mueller each doubled and singled for Yankton. Gabe Leon and Nik Davis each had two hits. Derrik Nelson doubled and Ross Heine singled in the win.
Jackson Sudbeck, Chase Rolfes, Devon Lammers, Dawson Sudbeck and Brady Stratman each had a hit for Wynot.
Luke Bauski pitched the final 2 1/3 innings for the win. Aron Steffen took the loss.
