Bucks Second In This Week's Poll

The Yankton Bucks, after a 2-0 week, remained second in Class AA in the South Dakota Media Basketball Poll, announced Monday.

Brandon Valley (6-1) remained in first in Class AA boys, drawing 13 of 18 first-place votes. Both Yankton (6-2) and third place Huron (5-1) drew two first place votes. O’Gorman (6-2), ranked fourth, drew the other first place vote.

St. Thomas More (7-0) drew 17 of 18 first place votes to remain atop the Class A boys’ poll. Sioux Falls Christian (6-1) drew the other first place vote. Dakota Valley (6-1) slipped to fourth after a loss to MOC-Floyd Valley, Iowa.

In Class B boys, Viborg-Hurley (4-0) remained in the top spot, drawing 13 first place votes. Second-ranked DeSmet (5-1) drew four first place votes, with third place White River (6-0) receiving the other.

In Class AA girls, O’Gorman (7-0) drew all 18 first place votes. The top five remained unchanged from a week ago.

Winner (8-0) drew 13 first place votes to remain atop the Class A girls’ poll. The top five remained unchanged from a week ago, with second-ranked Lennox (8-0) drawing four first place votes and third-ranked St. Thomas More (7-0) receiving the other.

Corsica-Stickney (6-0) remained atop the Class B girls’ poll, receiving 16 first place votes. Second-ranked DeSmet (7-0) drew the other two.
