The Yankton Tappers pounded out 20 hits in a 9-1 victory over Menno in South Central League amateur baseball action on Sunday.

Alex Mueller went 4-4 with three RBI for Yankton. Mitch Gullikson and Derrik Nelson each had a double and two singles. Luke Bauske also had three hits. Devin Gullikson, Mack Hollingsworth and Nik Davis each had two hits. Gabe Leon added a hit in the win.

Cody Ulmer and Adam Walter each had a hit for Menno.

Bauske struck out seven batters over eight innings for the win. Trey Bohlman took the loss, with Tom Sattler striking out five in five innings of relief.

Yankton, 6-0, travels to Tabor on June 16. Menno hosts Irene on Thursday.

IRENE — Tabor’s Austin Wise struck out 14 batters in a complete game three-hit shutout in the Bluebirds’ 11-0 victory over Irene in South Central League amateur baseball action on Sunday.

Sam Caba had three hits and Wise had two doubles for Tabor. Colin Muth doubled and singled, and Hunter Hallock added two hits in the win.

Matt Sees, Simon Healy and Adam Gale each had a hit for Irene.

Jacob Rausch took the loss.

Irene travels to Menno on Thursday.

WYNOT, Neb. — Lee Heimes and Jackson Sudbeck each had three hits to lead Wynot past Scotland 10-0 in South Central League amateur baseball action on Sunday.

Lee Heimes went 3-4 with a home run and three RBI, and Sudbeck went 3-3 with a double and two RBI for Wynot. Jalen Wieseler had two triples and two RBI. Kyle Wiepen also had two hits. Ryan Heimes, David Schenk and Devon Lammers each doubled. Austin Lange added a hit.

Dalton Mogck, Corey Gall and Tate Reiner each had a hit for Scotland.

Wieseler struck out four batters in three innings of no-hit ball, and Lange struck out two in his four innings of work for Wynot. Ryan Auch took the loss.

CORSICA — A four-run fifth inning helped Parkston down Corsica-Stickney 5-3 in amateur baseball action on Sunday.

Spencer Freudenthal had two hits and Spencer Lucas homered for Parkston. Cody Freudenthal doubled, and Dillon Stadlman, Red Welch and Brandon Deffenbaugh each had a hit in the win.

Luke Bamberg led Corsica-Stickney with three hits. Ross Kortan tripled. Kris Menning, Aaron Groeneweg, Steven Blom, Jared Mermanek, Nathen Blom, Jimmie DeWard and Ryan Buck each had a hit in the effort.

Cody Freudenthal picked up the win, with Jake Weber striking out four in four innings of relief for the save. Kortan took the loss, striking out eight in his eight innings of work.
