MITCHELL — Dillon Lambley went 4-5 with a double and five RBI as Winner-Colome rolled past Plankinton 11-1 in the quarterfinals of the South Dakota State Class B Amateur Baseball Tournament on Thursday at Mitchell’s Cadwell Park.

Reed Harter went 4-4 with four runs scored and two RBI for Winner-Colome. Zach Harter and Austin Richey each doubled and singled. Austin Calhoon also had two hits. Jeff Harris added a hit in the victory.

Orric Earl doubled and singled, and Chris Hill had two hits for Plankinton. Geno Katz doubled for the Bankers.

Derek Graesser went the distance in the seven-inning contest, striking out nine, for the win. Josh Engquist took the loss.

Winner-Colome advances to face Alexandria in the 1 p.m. semifinal on Saturday.

Alexandria 13, Milbank 2

MITCHELL — The Alexandria Angels scored three or more runs in four of the first five innings on the way to a 13-2 rout of the Milbank Firechiefs in the quarterfinals of the South Dakota State Class B Amateur Baseball Tournament on Thursday at Mitchell’s Cadwell Park.

Cole Wenande went 4-4 with a double, five RBI and three runs scored to lead Alexandria, which will face Winner-Colome in the semifinals on Saturday at 1 p.m. Pierce Smith went 3-4 with a triple. John Greicar doubled and singled. Jordan Gau tripled, Tyson Gau doubled, and Peyton Smith, Chris Marek, Matt Wilber and Jarrod Zens each had a hit in the victory.

Dom Boerger had two hits to lead Milbank. Tristan Hall, Jacob Karges, Lance Frogner, Travis Lester, Jacob Jackson, Brady Krause and Jake Arlt each had a hit for the Firechiefs.

Brady Nolz struck out 11 in a seven-inning complete game victory. Frogner took the loss, with Trevor Olson striking out five in 2 2/3 innings of shutout relief.
