Second In Watertown

The Yankton Fury 18s finished second in the 18-under gold bracket of the Watertown softball tournament, June 22-23 in Watertown. WATERTOWN — The Yankton Fury 18s dropped a 6-5 extra-inning decision to Lake Benton in the gold bracket championship of the Watertown Softball Tournament, which concluded on Sunday in Watertown.

Peyton Senger had three hits to lead Yankton. Kayli Jelsma doubled and singled, driving in two. Olivia Larson, Makayla Kelley and Faith Sparks each had two hits and a run scored, with Larson also driving in a run. Hannah Lindula had a hit and two runs scored. Haley Linke and Larkyn Mason each had a hit in the effort.

Tori Herrboldt took the loss, striking out two.

Fury 18s 4, Brookings 2

Olivia Larson had a double, a single and two runs scored as the Yankton Fury 18s downed Brookings 4-2 in the gold bracket semifinals on Sunday.

Peyton Senger had two hits, a RBI and a run scored for Yankton. Haley Linke, Tori Herrboldt and Hannah Lindula each had a hit and a RBI. Faith Sparks posted a hit and a run scored. Kayli Jelsma, Makayla Kelley and Larkyn Mason each had a hit in the win.

Herrboldt picked up the win, striking out two.

Elk Point-Jeff. 7, Parkston 3

Elk Point-Jefferson built a 7-0 lead and held on for a 7-3 victory over Parkston in the Watertown Tournament on Sunday.

Baylee Schoenfelder had two hits, and Jo Boettcher had a hit and two RBI for Parkston. Haley Lande doubled, and Lindsey Roth and Tiah Holzbauer each had a hit for Parkston.

Lande took the loss, with Maci DeGeest striking out four in 3 2/3 innings of relief.

Parkston, 10-7, travels to Avon on Wednesday.

Fury 18s 4, Parkston 2

Yankton built a 3-0 lead and held on for a 4-2 victory over Parkston on Saturday.

Peyton Senger had two hits and a run scored, and Makayla Kelley and Larkyn Mason each had a hit, a RBI and a run scored for Yankton. Olivia Larson and Kayli Jelsma each had a hit and a RBI. Hannah Lindula, Tori Herrboldt and Sarah Stoddard each had a hit in the win. Faith Sparks scored in the win.

Lindsey Roth, Tiah Holzbauer and Haley Lande each had two hits for Parkston. Jo Boettcher and Baylee Schoenfelder each had a hit.

Tori Herrboldt picked up the win, striking out eight. Maci DeGeest took the loss, striking out four.

14-Under

The TSC Lightning blanked the Yankton Fury Red 8-0 in the gold division final of the Watertown Tournament on Sunday.

Annika Gordon and Tori Vellek each had a hit for Yankton.

Regan Garry took the loss.

Yankton, 22-8, plays in the Ringneck Tournament beginning July 5 in Sioux Falls.

Fury Red 8, Fusion Synergy 0

Annika Gordon went 3-3 with a double to lead Yankton to an 8-0 victory over Fusion Synergy on Sunday.

Regan Garry went 2-3 with a triple, a double and four RBI. Elle Feser doubled and singled, driving in two and scoring twice. Olivia Girard also doubled. Izzy Wintz, Brooklyn Townsend and Camryn Zoeller each had a hit. Wintz and Grace Brockberg each scored twice in the win.

Garry tossed the five-hit shutout, striking out three in the five-inning contest.

Fury Red 11, Watertown 3

The Yankton Fury Red took advantage of seven walks in an 11-3 victory over Watertown’s VanLaecken-Palmquist team on Saturday.

Regan Garry went 2-2 with a triple and four RBI to lead Yankton. Izzy Wintz also doubled. Olivia Girard had a hit, two runs scored and two RBI. Annika Gordon and Brooklyn Townsend each had a hit. Hannah Sailer and Elle Feser each scored twice in the win.
