PARKSTON — Parkston split with the Mitchell Venom in girls’ softball action on Monday in Parkston.

Parkston took advantage of four errors to win the opener 4-2.

Tiah Holzbauer doubled and singled, scoring twice, to lead Parkston. Joe Boettcher doubled, and Haley Lande and Allison Ziebart each had a hit in the win.

Holzbauer picked up the win, striking out three.

Mitchell bounced back to take the nightcap 5-1.

Holzbauer doubled, and Ziebart added a hit and a run scored for Parkston.

Maci DeGeest took the loss.

Parkston, 18-8, begins play in the state tournament on Friday in Sioux Falls. Parkston faces the Pierre Pride to open the tournament, Friday at 2 p.m.
