Matthew Mors and Jaden Kral boosted Yankton to a 20-7 run in the fourth quarter, giving the Bucks a 56-37 victory over Sioux Falls Washington Tuesday night in Yankton.

Mors finished with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Mors had two dunks in the fourth that boosted the Bucks (7-2) momentum.

“Matthew was really good in the second half,” Yankton head coach Chris Haynes said. “He was very aggressive, very active. He got offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, blocked shots. He did all the things we needed him to do.”

Mors racked up two steals, blocks and assists which mostly came in the second half to boost the Bucks on both ends of the floor.

Mors was helped out on the offensive end by Kral, who scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half. He also hit a huge three-pointer early in the fourth quarter to give Yankton a bit of momentum.

“It was nice to see him (Kral) come in and knock down shots and get to the basket a couple times,” Haynes said. “We are going to need to have that kind of production from other guys.”

The Warriors (3-4) were pesky early, forcing turnovers and hitting open shots in the first half. According to Haynes and Mors, the Bucks just needed to pick up the intensity in the second half.

“We just came out and we knew that we had to defend and get some boards because our offensive is going to take care of itself,” Mors said. “We just had to make sure that we’re getting it done on the defensive end.”

Joining Mors and Kral in double-digits for scoring was Cooper Cornemann with 10 points. Hunter Kotrous scored seven of his nine points in the first half to help Yankton early on.

The Warriors were led by Ganin Thompson’s 1 points and four rebounds. Nate Gilbertson added nine points.

Up next for the Bucks is a trip to Aberdeen to take on Aberdeen Central Saturday. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 5 p.m.. The Bucks wont play in Yankton against until Feb 1. For the Warriors, their next game is at home on Jan 16 against Sioux Falls O’Gorman. Tip-off for that game is 7 p.m.
