VERMILLION — South Dakota men’s golf head coach John Vining is pleased to announce the addition of John Fischer to the 2019-20 men’s golf roster.

Fischer, a native of Waconia, Minnesota, comes to South Dakota after a senior campaign where he averaged 74 shots per round. He is a three-time all-Wright County Conference honoree and made appearances in three state tournaments.

Fischer joins Ian Johnston as the two newcomers to the Coyote golf squad for this year. Johnston was a finalist for the Des Moines Register Golfer of the Year while earning All-Iowa Elite Team honors as a senior.

South Dakota opens its season at North Dakota State on Sept. 9 with a match-play event.
