Viborg-Hurley moved to the top spot in Class 9AA in both the South Dakota Media and South Dakota Football Coaches Association polls, announced Tuesday. The polls were released on Tuesday due to a high number of weather-delayed games played on Monday.

Viborg-Hurley drew 18 of 20 first place votes in the media poll, and 13 of 14 first place votes in the coaches’ poll. Previously top-ranked Bon Homme, second in both polls this week, received the other first-place votes in both polls.

After its win over Bon Homme, Canistota-Freeman edged out Sully Buttes for the top spot in the Class 9A media poll. The Pride had already held the top spot in the coaches’ poll. Sully Buttes, which previously held the top spot in the media poll, was second in both polls.

Colman-Egan was the top pick in the Class 9B poll, and was a unanimous choice in the media poll. Scotland received votes in both polls.

Yankton received votes in both Class 11AA polls. Pierre was a unanimous top pick in both polls.

Sioux Falls Roosevelt claimed the top spot in both Class 11AAA polls, with Sioux Falls Lincoln ranking second and receiving first place votes in each poll. O’Gorman, ranked fourth in the coaches’ poll, also drew a first-place vote.
