HARRISBURG — Yankton Post 12 used a pair of big innings to beat Rosemount, Minnesota, 13-7 in a consolation game in the Dakota Classic American Legion Baseball Tournament on Sunday.

Rex Ryken went 3-5 with three runs scored, and Ethan Wishon went 2-2 with a triple and three RBI for Yankton. Miles Carda also had two hits and three RBI. Levi Wiersma tripled. Owen Feser and Caid Koletzky each doubled, with Feser driving in three runs. Michael Drotzmann also had a hit in the win.

Cayden Peterson pitched three innings of relief for the win.

Yankton finished the weekend with a 3-1 record, improving to 14-6 overall. Post 12 travels to Sioux Falls to face East in a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Yankton 8, Minot 4

BALTIC — Yankton Post 12 used a six-run fifth inning to pull past Minot, North Dakota, 8-4 in pool play on Saturday.

Caid Koletzky doubled and singled, and Levi Wiersma had a double and four RBI for Yankton. Owen Feser had a hit and two RBI, and Miles Carda and Rex Ryken each had a hit in the win.

Ethan Wishon picked up the win, striking out six in his five innings of work. Sam Mooney pitched the final two innings, striking out two.

16-Under Division

Yankton Black Sox 12, Pierre 7

SIOUX FALLS — The Yankton Black Sox took advantage of five walks and seven errors in a 12-7 victory over Pierre in the 16-under division of the Dakota Classic on Sunday.

Caeden Ekroth had two hits and Triston Spears had a hit and two RBI for Yankton. Dylan Prouty, Jacob Larson, Landon Loecker and Colton Potts each had a hit in the win.

Austin Pederson picked up the win, with Prouty pitching an inning of shutout relief.

Rosemount 13, Black Sox 5

SIOUX FALLS — Rosemount, Minnesota, rallied from a 4-1 deficit to claim a 13-5 victory over the Yankton Black Sox in the Dakota Classic on Saturday.

Jacob Larson had two hits and two RBI for Yankton. Paul McGlone and Dylan Prouty each had a hit.

Marcus Adam took the loss.

13-14 Division

Pierre 12, Yankton Grey Sox 8

SIOUX FALLS — Pierre used a pair of big innings to top the Yankton Grey Sox 12-8 in the 13-14 year-old division of the Dakota Classic on Sunday.

Jack Halsted went 3-3 with two RBI, and Wyatt Holmstrom had two doubles and four RBI for Yankton. Rayner Roig went 2-2 with a triple and three runs scored. Hunter Eggan, Keagan Holmstrom and John Rye each had a hit in the effort.

Wyatt Holmstrom took the loss in relief of Halsted, who struck out nine in his four innings of work.

The Grey Sox host Sioux Falls East on Wednesday. Start time for the twinbill is 1 p.m.

Grey Sox 16, Brookings 1

SIOUX FALLS — The Yankton Grey Sox used a pair of big innings to beat Brookings 16-1 in the Dakota Classic on Saturday.

John Rye went 2-3 with a home run and three RBI for Yankton. Chase Howe, Rayner Roig, Alex Kleinsasser and Jack Halsted each had two hits, with Kleinsasser driving in two runs. Keagan Holmstrom, Hunter Eggan and Cruz Maldonado each had a hit in the win.

Keagan Holmstrom picked up the win, striking out six in the three-inning contest.

Brandon Valley 9, Grey Sox 5

SIOUX FALLS — Brandon Valley Red downed the Yankton Grey Sox 9-5 in the Dakota Classic on Saturday.

John Rye went 3-3 with two runs scored for Yankton. Keagan Holmstrom doubled and singled, driving in three. Rayner Roig also doubled and singled. Chase Howe had two hits, Alex Kleinsasser doubled and Wyatt Holmstrom added a hit in the effort.

Roig took the loss, striking out six in his four innings of work.

Yankton Lakers 12, Northrop 4

BRANDON — The Yankton Lakers used an eight-run fourth inning in a 12-4 victory over the Northrop Giants in the Brandon Tournament on Sunday.

Rugby Ryken went 3-3 with a double and three runs scored for Yankton. Josh Sheldon also went 3-3. Connor Teichroew went 2-4 with a triple and two RBI. Cody Oswald and Luke Bernatow each doubled and singled. Garrett Nelson also had two hits and two RBI. Jace McCorkell also doubled. Drew Ryken and Isaiah Schelhaas each had a hit in the win.

Schelhaas picked up the win, with Rugby Ryken pitching an inning of shutout relief.

The Lakers, 14-4, hosts Watertown on Tuesday. Start time for the twinbill is 1 p.m.

Yankton Reds 10, Brandon Valley 0

BRANDON — The Yankton Reds bounced back from back-to-back losses to bounce Brandon Valley 10-0 in the Brandon Tournament on Sunday.

Lucas Kampshoff went 3-3 with two triples, a double and three RBI to lead Yankton. Landon Potts doubled and singled. Owen Wishon, Tyson Prouty and Hudson Bergeson each had two hits. Austin Gobel, Hunter Teichroew and Payton Peterson each had a hit in the win.

Kampshoff struck out eight in the four-inning shutout, allowing one hit.

The Reds, 14-3, host Sioux Falls West on Tuesday. Start time for the twinbill is 5 p.m.

Lakers 6, New London 1

BRANDON — Connor Teichroew went 3-3 to help lead the Yankton Lakers to a 6-1 victory over New London, Minnesota, Spicer in the Brandon Tournament on Saturday.

Jace McCorkell went 2-3 with a double, and Cody Oswald went 2-3 with three RBI for Yankton. Mac Ryken doubled, and Garrett Nelson, Josh Sheldon and Drew Ryken each had a hit in the win.

Garrett Nelson picked up the win, striking out five in the six-inning contest.

LeMars 10, Reds 5

BRANDON — LeMars, Iowa, used a pair of big innings to beat the Yankton Reds 10-5 in the Brandon Tournament on Sunday.

Keenan Wagner, Austin Gobel and Landon Potts each had two hits for Yankton. Lucas Kampshoff had a hit and two RBI. Owen Wishon added a hit in the effort.

Wishon took the loss, striking out four. Payton Peterson struck out three in two innings of relief.

West Fargo 9, Reds 3

BRANDON — West Fargo, North Dakota, used a five-run fourth inning to take control for a 9-3 victory over the Yankton Reds in the Brandon Tournament on Saturday.

Frankie In’t Veld went 2-3 for Yankton. Austin Gobel, Owen Wishon, Payton Peterson and Keenan Wagner each had a hit.

Tyson Prouty took the loss.

Reds 9, S.C. North Stars 8

BRANDON — The Yankton Reds overcame an 8-3 deficit to beat the Sioux City, Iowa, North Stars 9-8 in the Brandon Tournament on Saturday.

Hunter Teichroew had two doubles and three RBI for Yankton. Austin Gobel and Frankie In’t Veld each doubled and singled. Owen Wishon also had two hits. Lucas Kampshoff, Sean Thurner and Keenan Wagner each had a hit in the win.

Kampshoff pitched two innings of shutout relief, striking out four, for the win.

S.F. Bulls 10, Dakota Valley 2

SOUTH SIOUX CITY — The Sioux Falls Bulls pulled away from Dakota Valley 10-2 in the South Sioux City American Legion Baseball Tournament on Sunday.

Gannin Thompson went 2-3 with a double and four RBI for Sioux Falls. Avery Nordbye also had two hits. Wyatt Reitmeier and Kemmer Schramm each had a hit in the win.

Jevin Kratz had three of Dakota Valley’s eight hits. Brenden Klasi, Samuel Otten, Nathan Rice, Cade Zeller and Eric Johnson each had a hit in the effort.

Tanner Truog picked up the win. Kratz took the loss.

Dakota Valley, 5-7, hosts Elk Point-Jefferson on Wednesday.

Dakota Valley 5, Worthington 0

SOUTH SIOUX CITY — Nathan Rice tossed a complete game shutout, striking out nine, as Dakota Valley blanked Worthington 5-0 in the South Sioux City American Legion baseball tournament on Sunday.

Ethan Redmond went 2-3 with a double, and Samuel Otten had two hits for Dakota Valley. Ethan Redmond had a three-run home run, and Jake Likness, Brenden Klasi, Jevin Kratz, Cade Zeller and Keaton Hensley each had a hit in the win.

Hunter Boomgarden doubled for Worthington.

Rice allowed four hits in the win. Ben Rogers took the loss.

Lakeview 5, Dakota Valley 4

SOUTH SIOUX CITY — Jaden Johnson’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh lifted Columbus, Nebraska, Lakeview to a 5-4 victory over Dakota Valley in the South Sioux City Tournament on Saturday.

Johnson finished with two hits, and Caden Pelan had a double and three RBI for Lakeview. Cameron Drozd added a hit.

Nathan Rice had a hit and two RBI for Dakota Valley. Eric Johnson and Samuel Otten each had a hit.

Seth Bloomquist, who pitched three innings of shutout relief, picked up the win. Drew Addison went the distance in the loss, striking out seven.

Dakota Valley 5, Tekamah-Herman 1

SOUTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley hit the ball hard, with three of his five hits going for extra bases, in a 5-1 victory over Tekamah-Herman, Nebraska, in the South Sioux Tournament on Saturday.

Jake Likness went 2-4 with a triple for Dakota Valley. Ethan Redmond and Nathan Rice each doubled, with Redmond driving in two. Samuel Otten added a hit in the win.

Robby Mayberry, Cody Elliott and Jed Hoover each had a hit for Tekamah-Herman.

Keaton Hensley went the distance in the win, striking out five. Mayberry took the loss, striking out four.

Other Games

Vermillion 12, Elk Point-Jefferson 1

ELK POINT — Vermillion scored in each inning of a 12-1 victory over Elk Point-Jefferson in American Legion baseball action on Saturday.

Connor Saunders and Sammy Ward each doubled and singled, with Saunders scoring three times and driving in two runs, and Ward driving in three runs, to lead Vermillion. Dylan Thelen tripled, driving in three. Rylan Craig had a hit and two RBI, and Drew Thelen, Nick Roob and Willis Robertson each had a hit in the win.

Tyler Leif and Tyler Goehring each had a hit for EPJ.

Drew Thelen went the distance in the five-inning contest, striking out five. Hunter Goehring took the loss.

Vermillion, 3-7, travels to Beresford today (Monday). EPJ, 2-3, travels to Dakota Valley on Wednesday.

Ponca 3, Valentine 2

CREIGHTON, Neb. — Ponca scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally past Valentine 3-2 in American Legion Seniors baseball action on Saturday.

Carson Fox went 2-3 with two RBI, and Matt Logue went 2-3 for Ponca. Evan Anderson had a double and a RBI, and Hunter Volkert, Bubba Cabrales and Cole Richards each had a hit in the win.

Drew McIntosh doubled and singled, and Turner Tinant had two hits for Valentine. Tagg Buschle added a hit.

Brandon Kneifl went the distance in the win, striking out 10. Tinart took the loss, striking out seven in a complete game effort.

Ponca, 5-6, hosts Hartington today (Monday).

Creighton 7, Ponca 4

CREIGHTON, Neb. — Creighton built a 7-0 lead and held off a late surge to beat Ponca 7-4 in American Legion Seniors baseball action on Saturday.

Hunter Volkert doubled and singled for Ponca. Brandon Kneifl and Matt Logue each doubled. Gage McGill added a hit.

Logue took the loss, striking out four in his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Arlington 11, Ponca 5

ARLINGTON, Neb. — Arlington pounded out 15 hits in an 11-5 victory over Ponca in American Legion Seniors baseball action on Friday.

Trevor Smailys and Rafe Lorsch each had a double and two singles for Arlington. Sam Kubat doubled and singled, driving in three. Braden Rump also doubled and singled, driving in two. Cam Bruning and Justin Allen each had two hits. Cooper Hilgenkamp added a hit.

Brandon Kneifl went 3-4 for Ponca. Hunter Volkert went 2-4 with a home run. Michael Logue, Carson Fox and Zach Fernau each had a hit for Ponca.

Kubat pitched six innings, striking out four, for the win. Evan Anderson took the loss.

Juniors: Arlington 8, Ponca 5

ARLINGTON, Neb. — Arlington used a four-run fifth inning to battle past Ponca 8-5 in American Legion Juniors baseball action on Friday.

Josh Miller went 3-4 with a double for Arlington. Nick Smith and Aiden Foreman each had two hits. Zach Vanek tripled and Colby Grefe doubled in the win.

Austin Brennan went 2-3, and Grant Dorcey had a double and two RBI for Ponca. Brandon Mellick also doubled. Caydon Phillips, Bryar Bennett, Matt Logue and Chase Phillips each had a hit.

Barrett Nielsen went the distance in the win. Logue took the loss, striking out five in his five innings of work.
