WAKONDA — Behind 12 kills and five blocks from Morgan Bak, Irene-Wakonda captured its second victory of the season with a 25-13, 25-20, 25-23 sweep of Bon Homme in high school volleyball action Thursday night in Wakonda.

Maddie Mohr added eight kills for Irene-Wakonda (2-5), while Anna Orr had 11 set assists and two ace serves. Ashley Emmick led the defense with 24 digs to go along with four aces.

In the loss for Bon Homme (0-8), Ciera Himes had four kills and 17 digs, Jenae Alberts had two kills, three blocks and 11 digs. Johanna Jelsma chipped in with five set assists and six digs, and Lauren Bastemeyer had three aces.

Bon Homme hosts the Cavalier Clash on Saturday in Tyndall and Irene-Wakonda visits Lennox next Tuesday.

PIERCE, Neb. — After losing the first two sets, Crofton nearly rallied off two straight victories to complete the comeback, but in the end it was Pierce who came out on top 25-17, 25-17, 24-26, 23-25, 15-9.

Crofton got double-digit kills from Danielle Steffen (11) and Hannah Van Heek (10). Ryah Ostermeyer added four blocks, and Josie Sanger finished with 34 digs. Mackenzie Foxhoven finished the match with 16 assists.

No stats were reported for Pierce.

Crofton will look to bounce back on Tuesday when it travels to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, while Pierce will take on the undefeated Hartington Cedar Catholic Trojans on Tuesday in Hartington.

In the win for the Lady Bulldogs, Carrington Entringer finished with seven kills, 10 digs and two aces. NikyaOwens had five kills and three blocks.

For Freeman Academy-Marion, Amy Ptak earned 24 set assists. Rachel Miller recorded 18 digs.

Baltic will play Parker on Thursday in Parker. Freeman Academy-Marion will play Alcester-Hudson on Monday in Alcester.

Grace Henn led the way for EPPJ with 16 kills, while finishing with a hitting percentage of .333. Paige Meis added eight kills, and Nicki Payne tallied 20 assists.

Creighton was led by Kirsten Adams’ 14 kills, while Ashtyn Fritz added 11 kills. Sydney Walton totaled 22 assists and a pair of ace serves, and Sloane Fuchtman totaled 13 digs.

Creighton will host their own invite on Saturday, while EPPJ hosts Nebraska Christian on Thursday.

Miller had 13 kills, two blocks and two ace serves, while Roth had 10 kills and four digs.

Also in the win for Freeman (9-2), Josie Fuhrmann had 30 set assists and five digs, Ashley Glanzer recorded four kills, seven digs and six ace serves, and Jaimie Glanzer added 15 digs.

In the loss for TDA (2-6), Brianna Stoebner had 12 kills, Matti Reiner had eight kills and two blocks, and Alyssa Whitney added 10 set assists and seven digs. Erica Koster chipped in with 15 set assists, four digs and three aces.

Sydeny Kooisra had 11 kills and 12 assists for Tea Area, and Abi McLlvenna added nine kills and three blocks. Cari Hansen had three ace serves and 12 digs despite the loss.

Ellie Voss had a big performance for Sioux Falls Christian with 17 kills and three blocks. Kylee Van Egdom and Amily Strasser each had three ace serves, while Strasser had 17 digs. Samamtha Fykstra tallied 27 assists in the win.

For Wagner, Abby Brunsing and Faith Tyler had four kills each. Schylar Juffer added seven digs, while Sierra Juffer finished the match with seven assists.

Sioux Falls Christian will travel to Dakota Valley on Thursday, while Wagner will take part in tournament play in Tyndall on Saturday.

For Lennox, Callie Luke tallied eight kills and five ace serves. Riley Peters added five kills, and Leslie Fillipi made contributions to the attack with 13 assists and four kills.
