On Thursday, May 23, The Sons of Serendip will perform at the High School Theater at 7:30 p.m. in the final concert of the YACA season.

This music group of four friends came together in 2014 when they organized and performed on “America’s Got Talent,” taking fourth place. In 2018, they competed in the “America’s Got Talent” championship round and placed third.

The name Sons of Serendip comes from the notion that “Serendipity brought us together.” Each member has an inspiring story and together Sons of Serendip strive to embody the adjectives, Classy, Genuine, Spiritual, Sensitive, and Timeless.

Their concert program focuses on fairly contemporary music, some with a fresh twist, and some familiar pop tunes from Motown. This is a very interesting combination of voice and instruments which produce a lovely, rich sound, creating music that touches people’s hearts.

Yankton Area Concert Association is a membership based organization which offers five to six outstanding performances per season. Attendance is not permitted at an individual show rate.

As a special introductory offer to non-membership holders, YACA is opening the doors to the Sons of Serendip show to anyone who signs up (or has already purchased) a new membership for the 2019-2020 season which starts on Oct. 1, 2019 with The Annie Moses Band — a Nashville based family band.

The 2019-2020 season offers another outstanding line-up of performers: Rockapella — a New York based acapella quintet; Ernie Haase & Signature Sound Christmas; The Young Irelanders — authentic Irish music; The Everly Set — performing famous hits by the Everly Brothers; and Presidio Brass — world class ensemble performing Broadway tunes.
