GAYVILLE — The Poker Alice Band and country-western singer Brenda George return to Gayville Hall on Saturday, July 27, for an 8 p.m. concert of fiddle tunes, western swing, country, jump blues and pop.
The veteran South Dakota band was founded in the mid-1980s and is known for its virtuosity and eclectic repertoire, according to producer Doug Sharples.
George, from rural Avon, who sang with Poker Alice in the late 1980s, has reunited with the band once or twice annually at Gayville Hall since 2003.
Bandleader Nick Schwebach sings and plays lead guitar and Owen DeJong, who holds a master’s degree in violin performance, plays the fiddle. Both are from rural Wakonda.
Larry Rohrer of Beresford sings and plays bass. The other members are Dennis Jensen of rural Beresford on vocals and guitar and Al Remund of Vermillion on drums.
Gayville Hall is at 502 Washington Street in Gayville. Call (605) 267-2859 for ticket information.
