KAYLOR — The SoDak Stamm Chapter of the Germans from Russia will be hosting its monthly Kaylor Opry tonight (Friday) at Heritage Hall on north Main Street in Kaylor.
SoDak Stamm endeavors to preserve the history and culture not of just the Germans from Russia who settled in this area, but the rural, prairie, heritage that is common to most of us. As a result, they created the Kaylor Opry to preserve our heritage of old time country and gospel music.
Due to the great amount of moisture this spring, the city of Kaylor has been dealing with flooding. The Heritage Hall in Kaylor was also affected. This will mark the first opry organizers have been able to host this season. Typically, the opry is held on the first Friday night of the month from April until October.
The public is encouraged to come enjoy a night of old time music and fellowship. Potluck refreshments will be served. There is no admission charge but a freewill offering is taken to defray building expense.
