The Market at the Meridian in downtown Yankton features a unique blend of hand-crafted merchandise, produce, homemade baked goods, crafts for children and information on a whole lot of things to do in the area. This Saturday in the parking lot in the northeast corner of Second and Douglas from 9 a.m.-noon, one can also listen to music from James Dean.

The Market was created to help small-scale agricultural and home-based businesses who grow & produce their own products. It provides a place where local farmers and entrepreneurs can sell directly to the consumer. The goal is to develop opportunities for small business and create a space for social gathering which enhances the quality of life throughout southeastern South Dakota.

The farmers market has long been a great way for people who live in or are visiting Yankton to discover the beautiful downtown district and businesses, to purchase direct from the farmer, and to find art and specialty products. Vendors may vary weekly, but most are there each and every week.
