GAYVILLE — An evening of inspired gospel music by The Turkey Creek Revival Band returns to Gayville Hall at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, in Gayville.

The band first got together 15 years ago to perform at an outdoor service at the rural Wakonda home of Mark and Sharyn Ostrem.

Mark is pastor of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Irene and the rural Trondhjem Lutheran Church north of Volin. He and wife Sharyn both sing in the gospel band, and Sharyn, a long-time music teacher and multi-instrumentalist who has played bass fiddle for more than 30 years in the Sioux City Symphony, plays bass in the group.

The other members of the band are also multifaceted musicians. Twins Dale and Dean Knutson, who both farm near Centerville, sing and play guitar and mandolin in the band, and Matt Kiger of rural Volin sings and plays guitar.

The Knutsons perform in the Tri-Valley Barbershop Chorus and the Bros Squared barbershop quartet. Kiger has performed in numerous groups, including the duo Matt and Joe, and is a talented songwriter of gospel and other tunes.

Gayville Hall is at 502 Washington Street in Gayville. Call 605-267-2859 for ticket information.
