In my opinion, Rep. Dusty Johnson’s NO vote on impeachment showed terrible judgment. How can Dusty ever be taken seriously regarding searching for political common ground? That pursuit works only when neither side rejects accountability.

Consider similarities that exist between Trump’s cult (Dusty being a member) as compared to Charles Manson’s cult. Tex Watson and the infamous young women who sheltered their dear leader before law enforcement learned these young people’s leader was Charles Manson. Now think about the four years of Trump’s “Helter Skelter” rallies and inept government. Death counts during Trump’s presidency are hugely higher than the nine victims murdered by the Manson cult. Although mostly unreported, there were more foreign bombings and starvation-genocides during Trump’s four years than in Obama’s two terms. And Trump’s nearly 400,000 COVID-19 death tallies exceeded that of any other country in the world. Manson was a piker compared to Dusty’s dear leader.

Dusty says he made his NO vote decision because everything was simply moving too rapidly. My God, most everyone in the country understood what was happening at the time it was happening. On our TVs, we observed an enormous, well-planned traitorous insurgency. It was clear that the mob intended to invalidate a free and fair election and that Trump had lit the fire, then poured gasoline with his remarks. What more did Dusty need to see?

Dusty failed the people of South Dakota big-time with his NO vote. Now he must live with that legacy for the rest of his life.

Agreed.

Trump compared to Manson now, so I will compare liberals to socialism, which is easier than Trump to Manson (socialism is just a cover up word for communism by the way). Interesting watching our freedoms quickly disappearing under Joe Biden's watch with the countless number of executive orders. Keep complaining about Trump to keep the focus off of Biden's anti-American, anti-freedom work. If you question the communism label, just watch your favorite news shows and see how people from newspaper editors (which you won't see on NBC, CBS, ABC, etc. so you might have to do some of your own research) to the President (Trump of course) are being silenced in media outlets, all communist countries have control over the media, it is one of the first things they do, and it is happening in our great country now. Thanks communists, I mean liberals, I mean socialist, I mean..........

What silly comments, Mr. VoiceforAll. Socialism and Communism describe ways that a nation organizes its finances to support certain sectors of its economy and protect them from competition - especially foreign competition.

Sort of like the way South Dakota’s economy depends on those bipartisan socialists in Washington. We count on them to shower massive infusions of taxpayers’ cash on our struggling farm economy. Especially now that our socialist trade war that was started to protect farmers from the Chinese instead has them getting their soybeans from the South Americans.

What I’m saying is that you’re confusing an economic system with despotism. You know what despotism is, right? It’s the kind of leadership that would lie to people to get them to violently stop a democratic, peaceful transfer of power.

But keep your comments coming. You’re always entertaining.

Mr. T

Actually, Mr. Wegner, Dusty Johnson’s NO vote on impeachment showed very well-calculated judgment. He briefly dipped his toe into the waters of rationality, and consequently now he’s in the crosshairs of Trumpster who have declared war on all RINOS.

This is great news for those of us who left the GOP long ago and rejoice at their growing civil war. Neither the Trump base alone nor the RINOS alone can win back national power.

Couldn’t happen to more deserving folks.

Jolly Roger

Mr. VoiceforAll is confused, ignorant or just mouthing the Trumpist FOXNews talking points. (Talk about “control over the media.”)

Communism is an ECONOMIC system. Mr. Voice has it confused with totalitarianism. Under Communism the State pours resources into favored economic endeavors like our US government favors the oil industry and our very own agricultural community.

Why isn’t this “socialism”? I think ClownsRus defines it quite accurately when he says, “If government money goes to someone else, it’s Socialism. If government money comes to you or your friends, it’s not.”

And let me suggest that Mr. Voice change his moniker to “VoiceforTrump.”

MyThoughts

"What exactly is communism?

When it was first used in the mid-19th century, communism referred to an economic and political theory that advocated the elimination of private property and the common sharing of all resources among a group of people; in this use, it was often used interchangeably with the word socialism. Today, the word communism usually refers to the political and economic ideologies originating from Karl Marx's theory of revolutionary socialism, which advocates a proletariat overthrow of capitalist structures within a society; societal and communal ownership and governance of the means of production; and the eventual establishment of a classless society."

In short, communism is BOTH a political and economic system.
