In the wake of the GEAR UP tragedy, no one has ever come forward with an honest, accurate number of deserving Native American kids who actually went to college. This is despite our state government blowing through about $60 million of our state and federal tax dollars.

High-placed bureaucrats claimed preposterous conflicts of interest were “business as usual.” Auditors failed their professional and ethical obligations. Politicians suddenly came down with amnesia. Consultants laughed all the way to the bank with their ill-gotten millions.

While thousands of our young people got cheated out of a chance for a better future, no one ever spent a single night in jail. It was convenient to blame it all on the dead guy and move on.

Will our state’s Native American children and our taxpayers suffer again from such scandals? Yes, they will — unless we find ways to prevent such abuses of public trust from happening again.

Another broken promise by the immigrants living on stolen land. Who is surprised? You mean well. Good luck.

Iman

Dissolve the failed reservation system. Get government out of education. Let an individual fail or succeed on their own. Celebrate family values and strong work ethic not welfare and single parenthood. Enact term limits for ALL levels of government. Remove retirement and benefits from public service. Mind your own business.

Ooo... Iman’s getting into policy! Iman, does your antipathy to welfare extend to farming subsidies? And did you know that South Dakota is one of those “Begger States” that depends on the Federal dole, with the state receiving almost $300 per capita from that very Federal Government you despise. The dirty little secret is that South Dakota citizens get more in Federal money than they pay in Federal Taxes! How’s that for a “Strong Work ethic”? But don’t get too principled. You’re benefitting from the trickle down from that Federal largess along with everyone else in our state. Hypocrisy has it perks. Don’t let your pretty principles pick your panhandler’s pocket.

Iman

"does your antipathy to welfare extend to farming subsidies" . . . . yes, yes it does

Hi, Iman this is consistent with your recent post decrying ”lib/socialists who think the government is the answer to all their problems.” I wonder if your world view perceives the hypocritical reality that South Dakota depends on Federal Government money as we righteously pretend self-reliance while spending more in Federal dollars than we raise in taxes?

Iman

That’s just another example of government mismanagement.

The Euro-Americans broke over 500 treaties with the “Redskins” including the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868, which gave the Sioux - not you immigrants - the land you walk on today. 🏹The worst land on the planet is set aside as “reservations,” yet you, in your simplistic ignorance, call for them to be “dissolved.” 🏹 A wiser man would be shamed into silence. But I’ve watched you prattle, Iman, and I don’t need a vision to foretell you won’t.

Iman

"not you immigrants" . . . we are ALL immigrants. "The worst land on the planet" . . . . exactly that is why the reservation system should be dissolved. "A wiser man would be shamed into silence." . . . . Way too often wise men are shamed into silence. That is how we got into this mess. Peace on earth. Wouldn't that be nice. Have a wonderful day.

That‘s pathetically funny, Iman. Europeans came to America 527 years ago. According to most scientists, Native Americans were widespread in North America 20,000 years ago. There’s some evidence the forebears of these people came to America as far back as 30,000 to 40,000 years ago, Is that why you declare we’re all Immigrants? Where did you get that college degree you boast about? Trump University?

Iman

In recent years 'native Americans' has come into use as an alternative name. But it is a misleading phrase - meaning, but failing to say, aboriginal or indigenous Americans. In spite of its quirky origins, American Indians remains the more direct and simple term. . . . Your immaturity and and public school education show through. It's a real hoot to read the liberal posts. Don't forget to vote in 2020.

Public school has educated most of America, Iman. So if you’re a example of an elitist education, I appreciate your revealing the hollowness of it’s benefits with your comic “man of the people” act. Keep trying though, you’re always good for a laugh and at least I can appreciate it. I’m not the only clown on this feed.

You can never get through to Iman. His mind? ( like other of his ilk ) is made up for him by Trumpsters, you cannot confuse him with facts.
