It was no surprise when the Yankton School Board voted unanimously Monday night to express its opposition to the latest proposed Social Studies standards for South Dakota schools.

Would someone please put in print for the public to read what all the fuss is about. What are the new things people want compared to what has been around. How about just teaching what actualy happened, isnt that what we should be telling young people? Actual history. Not just any one groups spin on things?

That is what SHOULD be taught but our governor and the GOP oppose teaching TRUE history.

I am so thankful to the school board members for taking the right approach to this. I don't want my kids learning a "white-washed" history.

What is White washed history?
