Norman Clifford Johnson, age 55, of Santee, NE, died Tuesday (October 7, 2008) at the Golden Living Center in Hartington, NE.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at the Oyate Oyanke Community Center in Santee, NE, with Rev. Dave Hussey officiating.

Burial will be in Hobu Creek Cemetery in rural Lindy, NE.

Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday October 9, 2008, at Oyate Oyanke Community Center with an 8 o’clock prayer service on Thursday and Friday evenings and continuing until the time of service on Saturday.

Active Pallbearers will be PJ Johnson, Mervin Johnson, George Johnson, Chad Johnson, Jon Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Jr. Johnson and Ben Kitto.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Taylor, Marion Brandt, Nate Gilpin, Carl Thomas, Stuart Red Wing, Dave Henry, Butch Denny, Ambrose Red Owl and the Maza Kute Drum.

Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton, SD, is in charge of the arrangements.

Hosh was born in Niobrara, NE, on January 19, 1953, to Obed Johnson and Delores West. He lived with Roy and Mercedes Voss for five years in his younger days. He also lived with Gordon and Cecilia Kitto and family until he graduated from Niobrara High School. Following his graduation, he attended and graduated from NICC with an Associates of Arts Degree while being on the Deans list for two years.

He is survived by one sister, Debra Kay Morris and first cousin Nuna, PJ, Flo, Pansy, Mervin, George Johnson and one aunt, Ada Red Owl.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister, Marilyn and grandparents, Phillip and Emily Johnson.
