Chuck was born in Sioux Falls, SD on March 2, 1948 to Edward and Delores (Haas) Christensen. Chuck grew up in the Yankton, SD area, attending Yankton High School before enlisting into the Navy at the age of 17, serving 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon returning to Yankton, SD, he met Mary Burger. They were united in marriage on November 29, 1969. To this union they had one son, Troy Christensen. During their marriage they lived briefly in Omaha, NE before settling in the Lincoln, NE area. Chuck attended Universal Technical College in Omaha and South East Community College in Milford, NE, where he earned a degree in Heating and Cooling from each school. He chose this profession because he wanted to help others. He worked for Forest Heating and Air, driving semi for Seward Motor Freight, and then back to John Henry Plumbing in Lincoln, NE. After leaving this profession, he went back to his love of driving semis over the road. Chuck met Elaine Dragoo in 1991. They were united in marriage on March 27, 1993, and together raised 2 children, Skip and Starla, who he dearly loved. The last 16 years Chuck & Elaine created ENC Trucking, and owned their own semi, and continued driving until health issues made him stop. Chuck was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 791 in Yankton, SD, and also was a lifetime member with the DAV. He had a love of auto racing - Nascar and Sprint cars, especially enjoying push starting the Sprint cars at local tracks. Chuck was a man with a huge heart; he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He had the gift of gab, sense of humor, and the strongest work ethic any of us had ever experienced. He was a proud family man, husband, father, and Grandpa.
