Monday Accident On 81

No injuries were reported when a pickup truck hauling cattle in a trailer went into the ditch on Highway 81 five miles south of Yankton at 3:01 p.m. Monday. According to reports, the northbound truck sustained a flat tire, and the driver was attempting to navigate the vehicle to the shoulder of the road when he hit an approach, went airborne and landed in the ditch near some trees. Firefighters and ambulance crews from Yankton and Crofton were summoned, with firefighters using saws (shown) to cut off the cab and extract the driver, who walked away shaken up but unhurt.
