Motorcyclist Hurt

One person sustained life-threatening injuries following a motorcycle-versus-vehicle accident shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday in Yankton. Yankton Deputy Fire Chief Larry Nickles told the Press & Dakotan that a motorcycle collided with the back of a car at the intersection of Highway 50 and Adkins Dr. The car driver was uninjured while the motorcyclist was transported to Avera Sacred Heart Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Commander Todd Brandt of the Yankton Police Department (YPD) told the Press & Dakotan that the YPD is investigating the accident and that the YPD, Yankton County Sheriff’s Office, Yankton County EMS and South Dakota Highway Patrol responded to the accident.

Later there was another bad accident on 81 on a curve between Hwy 12 and Hwy 84 in Nebraska.
