Not A Good Sign

While the area focuses on the coronavirus crisis, another problem — spring flooding — hasn’t gone away. On Sunday, the road (431st Ave.) by the Stone Church Bridge in northern Yankton County south of Menno was officially posted as closed as water levels on the James River continue to rise with the spring melt. On Saturday, Yankton received 2.5 inches of snow, which set a new snowfall record for March 14. (The previous mark was 2 inches in 2002.) More wet weather may be in store later this week.
