Ditched In Yankton

The driver of a semi was hospitalized after an accident on the north side of Yankton Tuesday afternoon. According to Yankton Deputy Fire Chief Larry Nickles, a semi loaded with 80,000 pounds of corn was southbound on Highway 81 when, at approximately 4 p.m., it crossed the median, northbound lanes of traffic and ran through parts of the Culver’s and Menards parking lots before coming to rest in a drainage ditch. Multiple cars were hit in the parking lot, but no further injuries were reported. The driver was transported to Avera Sacred Heart Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accident is being investigated by the Yankton Police Department.

It's bad enough this had to happen, and thank heavens the driver wasn't hurt, but my son, his co-worker, stopped to help him and in the mean time, so wonderful citizen stole my son's lunch box out of his truck. The box meant something to my son, his earbuds were in there but the most precious item my son owns was in that box: his grandfather's dog tags attached to his keys. We can't replace this item and want desperately for the person to please turn them into the police station. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Please! Thank you.
