Anglers At The Gates

These anglers used boats to implement “social distancing” Saturday as they took advantage of the closure of the spillway gates at Gavins Point Dam. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced late last week that it was lowering releases at Gavins Point Dam to 20,000 cubic feet per second, which resulted in the spillway gates being closed for the first time in more than a year. The closure could help alleviate with draining the floodwaters of the James and Big Sioux rivers, which drain downstream.
