Bird’s Eye View

The Mandarin duck (christened “Duckota” by an online poll conducted by the Yankton Parks and Recreation Department) that has taken up residence at Yankton’s Westside Park has become a popular attraction in recent weeks. The duck, which is rare for this area, has drawn not only casual sight seers but also photographers who have trekked here from across the region to capture images of the colorful fowl. As shown here, the duck is not particularly alarmed by humans in relatively close proximity.
