Camper Fire

Yankton fire crews were summoned to a camper fire at the KOA Campground on the east edge of Yankton at 1:40 a.m. Saturday. An individual in a nearby camper noticed smoke coming from this camper, which was unoccupied at the time. The fire originated at the rear interior in the bathroom. The camper, which was the permanent residence for its occupant, sustained heavy smoke damage and was a total loss. The occupant was assisted by the Red Cross. Firefighters were on scene about an hour.
