The Disaster Recovery Center in Yankton County will be closing this Saturday, July 13.
The Yankton County Office of Emergency Management (YCOEM) announced the closure in a press release issued late Tuesday afternoon.
The disaster recovery center was set up several weeks ago to help area residents deal with issues caused by the flooding that occurred in March and April.
"If you haven’t started the process, but sustained damages in flooding this spring, please call or visit them today," the YCOEM said in a press release.
The disaster center has served as the base for representatives from both the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
However, individuals may still register after the center closes by calling 800-621-3362 or registering online at www.disasterassistance.gov through Aug. 6, 2019.
When you register, you will need to provide some basic information as well as your Social Security number, any private insurance information you have, address and zip code, your phone number plus basic directions to your home.
A phone number is also available to TTY users: 1-800-462-7585.
You can also visit with a representative through Saturday by stopping in at 807 Capital Street. Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
If you have questions or want more information, contact the Office of Emergency Management at 605-668-5289.
