Mount Marty College History Professor Rich Lofthus spends a lot of his time traveling in the summers, collecting landscape photos that he sells, and photographing historical sites that he then incorporates into his teaching. However, it is during the school year that his cameras really get put to use. Lofthus has photographed Lancer athletics for decades and a display of his Lancer sports photography entitled “Lancers Through My Lens” will be on display in the Bede Art Gallery at Mount Marty College from Feb. 5 through March 27, 2020. A gallery talk and reception will be held today (Wednesday) from 2-4 p.m.

The “Lancers Through My Lens” exhibit is linked to a Special Olympics Recognition Day that will take place at a Lancer women’s basketball game against the College of Saint Mary at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8. Thanks to private donations and corporate support from Harold’s Photo Center of Sioux Falls, those who purchase photos in the exhibit will be making a contribution to Special Olympics.

Lofthus’ photography website is located at www.rlofthusphotography.com.
