Dive in Yankton, a group of Yankton citizens working to make the dream of a new aquatic facility in Yankton become a reality, will host a Community Open House on Wednesday, Aug.15, at Fantle Memorial Pool from 6-8 p.m.

A "free" complimentary meal of Sheboygan hot dogs, chips and soda will be provided, in part, by American Foods Group and Chesterman Company of Yankton and all event-goers are invited to swim at no cost.

Community members are also invited to take a behind-the-scenes look at the facility’s crumbling infrastructure and mechanical challenges one last time before the pool is drained for the season. Yankton Parks and Recreation staff will be on hand to provide tours and a first-hand account of what it takes to keep the 71-year-old pool operational. Additionally, Dive In Yankton Committee members as well as City Commissioners, will be available to answer questions about the project.

There will also be an exciting announcement made regarding a large pledge to the Dive In Yankton effort. Dive In Yankton Committee Members are hopeful that this will be the "last chance ever" for the community to see Memorial Park Pool full of water.
