Construction Won’t Impact Riverboat Days Parade Route

Wet weather has helped to push back completion of work at the intersection of 21st St. and Douglas Ave.

However, it will not affect the Riverboat Days Parade route thanks to temporary fixes.

Riverboat Days Secretary Katie Greene told the Press & Dakotan Wednesday that the City of Yankton is working on a solution.

"The city has assured us that Douglas and 21st will be graveled for the parade," Greene said. "Douglas and 21st will be where the parade starts like it has in previous years."

Greene said the parade begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and will proceed south on Douglas Ave. before turning on Eighth St. towards Cedar St. then down Cedar to Fourth St. and terminating in downtown.
