PIERRE — The Redefine Acute Mental Health Hospitalization Legislative Task Force will hold its second meeting of the 2019 Interim on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at 9 a.m. (CT) in Room 412 of the State Capitol in Pierre.

The group will discuss and take public testimony regarding the definition of “acute mental health hospitalization” and the extension of permissible mental health holds beyond 24 hours. The task force was created through the passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 2 by the 2019 Legislature.

The Task Force members are Rep. Michael Diedrich (R-Rapid City), Chair; Sen. Kris Langer (R-Dell Rapids), Vice Chair; Rep. Tim Johns (R-Lead) and Sen. Craig Kennedy (D-Yankton); and public members Greg Barnier (Rapid City), Terrance Dosch (Pierre), Amy Iversen-Pollreisz (Pierre), Jeremy Johnson (Yankton), Kari Johnston (Watertown), Gary Marx (Aberdeen), Amber Reints (Sioux Falls), and Katherine Sullivan (Rapid City).
