SUNDAY, MAY 26

12:31 p.m. — An inmate being held for a Yankton County warrant was transported to Gayville and turned over to a Yankton County Deputy for transport to the Yankton County Jail.

4:58 p.m. — A patient was transported from the hospital in Vermillion to the Human Services Center in Yankton for an involuntary mental health committal.

9:42 p.m. — A deputy responded to mediate a dispute between parents and a teenaged son at a rural residence.

10:29 p.m. — A deputy responded to a 911 call from a closed Irene business. The matter was determined to be a phone line malfunction.

MONDAY, MAY 27

1:43 p.m. — A deputy investigated a two car, non-injury crash in Irene. One driver was cited for failing to stop.

3:04 p.m. — A deputy assisted in an effort to locate a suicidal man who was believed to be in rural Clay County. The man was later located in Beresford.

5:47 p.m. — A deputy responded to a report of a medical emergency at an Irene residence. Assistance was provided until the arrival of EMS.

9:11 p.m. — A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in the mud on a rural road near University Road north of Vermillion. The driver was not able to remove the vehicle and a tow service was not able to get to it at that time so the vehicle was left there and the occupants were driven to their destination by a family member.

TUESDAY, MAY 28

8:26 a.m. — The Sheriff observed two Llamas running on 308th St. The Llamas were herded into their pen which was at a nearby residence.

1:02 p.m. — An inmate was transported to a medical appointment.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 29

3:34 a.m. — A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on Highway 50 east of Vermillion.

10:07 a.m. — An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

9:16 p.m. — A deputy received a report of a pit bull biting a child in Wakonda. The dog was ordered quarantined for observation.

THURSDAY, MAY 30

9:00 a.m. — Two inmates were transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail after being held there due to Clay County Jail crowding.

10:21 a.m. — A rural resident reported a theft of a gas line locater from his company vehicle.

2:14 p.m. — An inmate was transported from the Charles Mix County Jail to the Clay County Jail after he violated probation.

FRIDAY, MAY 31

9:51 a.m. — An inmate was transported from the jail to a dental appointment.

4:39 p.m. — A wanted person was transported from the Minnehaha County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

SATURDAY, JUNE 1

2:18 p.m. — A caller reported a farm tractor and implement driving around road closed barricades and through the water on the road on Highway 19. A deputy responded to the area and the driver of the vehicle was cited for the offense.

10:38 p.m. — A deputy responded to a report of an underage alcohol party at a rural residence. When a deputy responded, numerous people ran from the scene on foot and one left in a vehicle and later crashed, resulting in a DWI arrest. The property owner was not located at the home but was notified of the incident.

11:58 p.m. — A deputy investigated a report of a one vehicle crash of a vehicle that had left an underage alcohol party that the deputy had responded to. After the investigation, the driver was arrested for DWI.
