A car was severely damaged by an engine fire while it was parked at a Yankton eating establishment Sunday morning.
According to the Yankton Fire Department, firefighters were summoned at approximately 9:45 a.m. to McDonald’s when an engine fire was reported in a car. The operator of the vehicle was inside eating at the time.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the engine compartment, but the car was considered a total loss.
Firefighters were on the scene for 20 minutes.
