10:25 a.m. — A deputy responded to a 911 call in Irene when the caller hung up after the call was received. The deputy spoke to the caller who reported it was an accident that he had dialed and there was no emergency or need of assistance.
7:08 p.m. — A deputy responded along with fire units to a report of a grass fire in the ditch on Highway 50 west of Vermillion. The fire appeared to have been started by fireworks.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 28
12:31 p.m. — A deputy investigated a report of a tractor stolen from a rural residence. It was learned that a family member took the tractor and it appeared there was some dispute over ownership of the tractor.
1:45 p.m. — An inmate was transported from the Sioux County Jail in Orange City, Iowa to the Clay County Jail to attend a court appearance.
4:02 p.m. — The School Resource Officer investigated a report of a fight between students at school.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29
10:20 a.m. — The School Resource Officer investigated a report of a fight between students.
3:39 p.m. — A deputy responded to a residence in Vermillion to keep the peace while one person gathered belongings to move out.
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30
11:03 a.m. — A deputy investigated a report of checks forged against the bank account of an Irene business.
1:01 p.m. — Two inmates were transported to the State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls to begin their prison sentences.
3:29 p.m. — The School Resource Officer transported a child home after he was not allowed on the bus due to behavioral matters. The child was left in the custody of his mother.
8:28 p.m. — A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked on a gravel road southeast of Vermillion. A deputy responded and located the vehicle. The occupants were not in need of assistance and reported they were parked there to talk.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31
2:36 p.m. — An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail.
4:01 p.m. — While patrolling rural roads, a deputy found that someone had dumped several appliances in the road ditch.
6:48 p.m. — A deputy responded to a car/deer crash on Highway 19 north of Vermillion.
6:56 p.m. — A deputy assisted Vermillion Police Officers with a response to a reported assault in Vermillion.
10:02 p.m. — A patient was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital to be held for an involuntary mental health committal.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1
10:01 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped for speeding on 452nd Avenue. The driver was cited for not having insurance on the car.
11:51 a.m. — An inmate was transported from the jail in Winner to the Clay County Jail.
SATURDAY, November 2
7:38 p.m. — A deputy responded to a report of a tire coming off one vehicle and striking another vehicle on Highway 50 near Meckling.
